DALeast ๐จ๐ณ Wuhan, China โข Street Art โข Based in Cape Town, by coller on May 7, 2015 19:35:02 GMT 1, What was wrong w/ the Borondo Identity release? Wasn't that just 20 in person, 20 on SAN? (and those seemed to go to actual people for the most part) This was hilariously disastrous, and borderline shady. Basically nobody knew when it was being released online and when it did come up I was sound asleep after having been checking their site for three hours. So you just don't like randomly-timed releases? I mean, they announced they were doing that beforehand (that day at a random time). And their system worked/didn't crash. Loads above what we say today, IMO.

The last time I saw a release this shady was the Retna "Eastern Realm" print.

DALeast ๐จ๐ณ Wuhan, China โข Street Art โข Based in Cape Town, by Mirus Gallery Poesia on May 7, 2015 20:22:13 GMT 1, I would say it was a learning experience, PTA has dropped numerous releases all in similar fashion so any IT failures would have been tough to see. I am sure knowing the future they could have fixed this before, but I wouldnt be so hard on them as they have continued to work with great artists and dropping releases regularly sold out or not. They seem to have a system and have kept things within that system as a printer, I can respect much more how they handle things versus other printers. But remember they are printers and Not some tech company that might understand the nuances of traffic let alone how ti fix it. For their IT issues thats fixable in future releases even if they had to learn the hard way.
I give them a pass on this one, but I understand how hard it is to please a Mob of excited buyers.

DALeast ๐จ๐ณ Wuhan, China โข Street Art โข Based in Cape Town, by phoj on May 7, 2015 20:23:38 GMT 1, It's in my honest opinion quite horrendous the way they've been handling this. The total collapse of the page gives away an amateur vibe, but fine, I can forgive them that. What I really think is bad is that they go on to give no information what so ever other than "the page is down guys", as in "stop pesterering us, you stupid customers we need to make a living". And when they do update, it is no apologies to the people they have kept waiting for an hour, just a quick "this went to shit, we'll do it another day. We'll keep you posted!" 10 minutes later they whip (yes, read it with Stewies voice) them out anyways, and generally makes the statement "We'll do whatever we want you twats! We don't give a shit about you!"
At this point, if they had any fiber of professionalism they would perhaps made a statement saying why they chose to do that and apologize for the inconvenience. What do they do? They delete the bloody previous statement on facebook along with any other comments criticizing and pretend nothing has happened. I mean; seriously? I know they're french but hello!

Easy as that. At least give them some (correct) information.

Funny that you're constantly doing 2 things on this forum lately: 1- making snide comments about the forum and us gardians. (See above quoted post) 2-making for sale threads.
So it's ok to sell you're things on the forum that youre constantly(lately) bashing.
Just want to be clear, because I'm somewhat confused.

No offense to French people but I have been told their customer service is not their best trait, In America the customer usually is always right and we cry about everything how we are entitled to things, I dont get that Vibe when I am in France. Not making excuses but just giving some perspective to cultural differences handling a F****d situation where a small printer/printing company has an IT issue has no clue whats going on and probably running around like crazy trying to solve it. In this situation small businesses might handle things differently even if it was the wrong way I am sure there intention was to fix it first, not how to make it fair once it was fixed. People handle pressure differently I dont hold that against them, and I would hate to make accusations about a printer without real knowledge they presold prints for cash when they have no track record of such behavior.

So it's ok to sell you're things on the forum that youre constantly(lately) bashing. Just want to be clear, because I'm somewhat confused. My problem with this forum is that it has become a censorship garden, and a heavily-censored street art forum makes little sense to me. That, and many threads devolve into arguments over misinterpreted jokes/remarks (like what's probably gonna happen now!). Free speech on this site went from 100-to-0 real quick over the past few months. IMO Guardians should be the wiser users who can react unemotionally and try to temper situations, rather than making remarks that can potentially escalate the situation; many are not doing this properly from my perspective.
That said, the forum is clearly useful for other purposes, i.e. buying/selling art and discussing art/artists; I gladly engage in those parts. That's why I'm here; if you actually look at the breadth of my posts, I do not only make sale threads and snide comments about the state of the forum (although I do enjoy doing both). I also try to introduce new art and artists that I feel others may like.

This things can happen, it had already happend many time with Faile last book for exemple and it will continue to happen it is the way it is with website.
I would prefer discuss art instead of IT system and critisim about French culture!
Do you know if Daleast plan to do any show in Europe?

DALeast ๐จ๐ณ Wuhan, China โข Street Art โข Based in Cape Town, by Print Them All on May 8, 2015 8:37:16 GMT 1, Dear friends,
Seeing all the reactions on today's release we just wanted to let you know we did our best to manage this drop, but the demand was just overwhelming. We had literally 1000s of page hits going for one of 60 available prints! This means that 100s of people were left empty handed and disappointed and we're still busy answering such messages and emails.
This was by far the most anticipated PrintThemAll release to date, and we can assure you we did our best to make this release as fair and smooth as possible. Unfortunately, there was no way for everyone that wanted one of the prints to get one. We're really sorry about that!
The only thing we can say is that DALeast will return for a collaboration with PrintThemAll, and after this experience we'll make double sure that release goes even smoother and glitch free.
Thank you for your interest and support, and once again, we're sorry for all the trouble or stress that this release might caused you.

Dear friends,
Seeing all the reactions on today's release we just wanted to let you know we did our best to manage this drop, but the demand was just overwhelming. We had literally 1000s of page hits going for one of 60 available prints! This means that 100s of people were left empty handed and disappointed and we're still busy answering such messages and emails.

DALeast ๐จ๐ณ Wuhan, China โข Street Art โข Based in Cape Town, by rosh on May 8, 2015 10:29:53 GMT 1, Looking the reactions on this thread my mind is troubled. I'm lucky to know the Idem & Print Them All teams, i can assure you they're fine guys and very accessibles. They are doing a great job, i don't think either they pre-sold the prints because it's not their way of thinking. The leitmotiv of PTA is to do fine art edition to permit at people who can not afford Originals to handle nice art in their walls.
The thing is that artists like DALEast have a huge community of fans who want prints no matter what the cost, because he is a great artist who not release lots of prints. Look at the Jonhatan Levine release : 12 hours of queue only in one city. Imagine in the worldwide internet doing F5 F5 in the same time, things looked to be hard to manage for IT! Only 60 prints for thousands of persons... Indeed, if PTA just want to hype it all, they will not take care to choose a paper of this quality to work with techniques as expensive, take care to organize a travel for all the artists.. They would do the basic Silkscreen like others do and push the "print" button !
Well, this is my point of view. If you like the artist work, just be fair play and stay friendly with teams who give it all to give you the best.
