West Country Prince - Orange Nola & Laugh Now, by Karl Read on Nov 25, 2013 19:36:12 GMT 1, Wow, seems like I opened up a can of worms with my original comment on page one. Glad some people agree with me.
1.) I'm amazed by what some people think is legal and ethical for that matter.
2.) this isn't just about banksy, it's the whole idea of flat out stealing someone else's work.

West Country Prince - Orange Nola & Laugh Now, by misterx on Nov 25, 2013 22:21:09 GMT 1, Did Banksy seek approval from the artists who painted the original oils that he disfigured for the Crude Oils show ? And the charity pic that he just added his signiture on , instantly making it worth hundreds of thousands , but altering someone elses art. In the early days before his graffiti added value, did he worry about the house, or business owner before he splattered paint around ? Illegally lets not forget. You are all missing the point here I feel, taking it all very personally I just feel he isnt, and you are . Which is amusing. This. Mr. B doesn't give a toss. Why you lot should be so uppity is indeed hilarious. Have an opinion, sure, but remember thats all it is.Theres no moral high ground regarding Banksy. I suspect he'd rather you took that WCP frustration and instead channeled it into helping fix something thats broke, be it politics or civil society or something thats a little more important than bitching about some clearly marked copies....ffs!

I do think there is a moral high ground when it comes to stealing other peoples work and it does affect civil society and if you will politics.
The road you are walking is just as high as any one elses by telling people not to worry about fake Banksys being sold on a Banksy forum.
There are many artists on this forum. I don't think they would appreciate WCP to sell their images.

These are the kind of fcuking stupid rumours that start to justify this.
And NO you don't need an original screen to produce a screen print just a decent quality image of the correct size. And in fact on a good few of these you can see how poor they are at screen printing as the resulting image is a poor representation.

West Country Prince - Orange Nola & Laugh Now, by Deleted on Nov 25, 2013 23:43:40 GMT 1, Selling fake banksy would surely imply someone is trying sell a work as an original when it is'nt, thats not the case, they're selling reproduction banksys for ยฃ55. This has being going on for years and banksy nor pow seem to have any quams with it, if they did we'd all know about it. If banksy spoke out about how he wasnt happy with it all then yes it would be wrong but he has'nt, why, because it does no damage to him as an artist. He sold his canvass's for $60, why, to make a point, the art market can be farce, people should buy what they like not because its by whoever but because they like it. Yes if you can afford the original buy it or if your interested in investment, i dont see anyone being harmed here and banksys a big boy who can stick up for himself if he chooses to.

A forum is for discussion and people thoughts.
Not one view and ideas is right or wrong not stating as fact ,asking as my thoughts .
Discussed over and over again , peoples market and buyers dictate the existence of wcp .
Not all can afford real prints and it's for the artist to care to defend his Art ,think with all the millions he can put an end to this if he wants? And the ranting won't stop this ? A lot more important stuff happening in the real world! Buy, buy

West Country Prince - Orange Nola & Laugh Now, by Deleted on Nov 26, 2013 1:08:55 GMT 1, LOL, its not that Tabtab, its just that on WCP threads it always comes up somewhere that maybe they could be sanctioned copies or somehow its connected with Banksy or POW, all BR is saying is saying is that in no way is WCP anything to do with Banksy / POW or anyone whoever worked there, which is true. they are only copies / fakes.

That coming from a gallery is pretty funny.
I guess you can close shop then or are you also selling WCP prints.
Even for a reproduction you need permission specially if you are selling it.

And everyone knows the art world can be a farce, theres loads of tat getting ridiculous sums because of hype which is soulless and might as well be a repro but there is some great artists who live for what they do and the money is irrelevant big names and relative unknowns alike.

West Country Prince - Orange Nola & Laugh Now, by Deleted on Nov 26, 2013 6:51:24 GMT 1, That coming from a gallery is pretty funny. I guess you can close shop then or are you also selling WCP prints. Even for a reproduction you need permission specially if you are selling it. funny how? Because im a gallery and i say the art market can be a farce, or that i dont see how anyones being harmed by selling repros by an artist who doesnt seem to mind, maybe soon the pin will drop, this actually gets the banksy name out there more, but i guess this will really annoy him, he surely doesnt want all those extra people who arent interested in urban art looking at his work, thats why grafitti artists choose to spray there images in places were as many people as possible will see it, perhaps the want as many people as possible to see there work. And everyone knows the art world can be a farce, theres loads of tat getting ridiculous sums because of hype which is soulless and might as well be a repro but there is some great artists who live for what they do and the money is irrelevant big names and relative unknowns alike. have to agree with castle on this.

West Country Prince - Orange Nola & Laugh Now, by Snakes on Nov 26, 2013 9:34:28 GMT 1, The Happy Choppers print that he did was exceedingly good and the Laugh Now is also very good although it is (or was on the first run) on the wrong type of paper.
Anyone got a colour Trolleys and if so how good is it?
