Your buying the image. As for the price of these the secondary market has not risen in the last two years for these unlike a real print which has probably doubled in that time.

The bit thats wrong for me is that the original concept (by banksy) behind it takes a lot of thought. Well it seems to me like he puts them up markets them as limited to 60 then three months later another 60 go up of the same image. They are not even accurate. Move along nothing to see here. Buy something from a artist who contributes to the forum I say.

The bits that are wrong for me are:

They are profiting off of an "actual artists" creation.

These prints highly increase the chance of someone buying what they think
is an original banksy print. You can see these getting signed and numbered 
and sold in a frame to someone, as an original banksy print to less educated buyers.

I don't get why any real banksy fan would buy these.
you know it's not the real thing, if you like the image buy a cheap poster or print out the image.
save your money and spend it on another artist.

Because they are cheap and look like the real deal. Many Banksy fans (as you call them) cannot afford to drop 2K on a piece of paper with a few layers of ink on it but can easily sacrifice a night down the pub and buy one of these for a 35th of the price of an unsigned print. You may find that many who own prints by the WCP also do own prints by other artists as due to the prices that the WCP charges (which are inline with the crappy Camden Market type canvasses etc) it is hardy going to compete on the wallet when considering buying other artists artwork.

It's lucky I am not a true fan. I like some of Banksy's artwork but I imagine that he is not the sort of guy that I necessarily would want to share a pint with and I am sure that may work both ways! For me it is not morally wrong as those who are reproducing his work such as the WCP and selling it upfront as being reproductions are committing no crime or copyright infringement which is more than can be said of someone who committed acts of criminal damage when painting other people's walls

Actually, i just looked up the price, £55, its not much more than the price of a poster print and looks to be better quality, i thought they were in the hundreds by the reactions and in terms of them effecting the investment value of the genuine article, no chance, if people are going to try and sign these and pass them off as originals then the buyers are naive for parting with large sums of money without doing at least a little research into what they're buying.

Ps. How much does it cost to go to snappy snaps and get them to make a 70x50 enlargement/ print on crap glossy paper?

Thing is, its like all stuff really i suppose, ive got a copy Basquiat in the Lavatory here (not in it but on the wall), and i like it. I would never try to flog it as the real thing though and i reckon that most WPC prints will be bought and owned by people liking the image and they will just hang it etc., however, theres probably a certain type who would try to pass it on as real, esp if its dry mounted or stuck down or something, and also not everyone knows about PC and that stuff, and also Banksy is really marketable at present after the show and seems everyone wants one so eager buyers wanting in abound out there ready to part with cash etc..

Basically, i have no fkin idea what im trying to say as ranted on too long, so fk it.

^ would the fact that a photo is copyrighted of an un copyrighted image be considered a bit of a juxtaposition?
