charidee starts here, by seidbereit on Dec 7, 2007 15:02:50 GMT 1, Been looking forward to the charity auctions since I first read the thread, but they seem to be geared only towards buyers in the UK (ie. the postage and payment methods offered).
I'm not in the UK (Germany) but I'm already bidding on an item which I intend to keep bidding on to the death and therefore need to know if:
a) paypal will be available for payment too? (it can be to a different existing paypal account as far as I'm concerned, so long as it belongs to someone involved in organisation).
b) if a) = no, can you please have the IBAN and SWIFT code details to hand for the account to be paid into. I would accept the bank charges of course but as these are 18 Euros I would again ask you to have another think about question a)
c) Can I assume postage is UK only? (EDIT: in which case I could offer an alternative shipping address)
Thanks.

As to all the other questions regarding the auction start times they should have all started yesterday. I have asked Verbal to update us all as it is going to be difficult to complete them all and collect the money in time to give to the Charity so they can do something with it for Christmas.
I am positive Verbal will update us soon.

I've since contacted another forum member who's willing to pay for me by cheque with me fronting up on paypal - there's some very helpful folks on here. As regards postage, when (heh!) I win, I'll just get it posted to me mam and get it off her when I see her at xmas so that should be the least of the problems.
It's all a bit like trying to get a gold flag really... or nearly as hard
Cheers again +1

I have posted the results of the 1st three auctions which have raised a combined total of £422.00 on the main thread. Thank you to the people who donated the 1st three items and to those who bid.
The Adam Neate finishes this evening and will see the total to date grow significantly.
With respect to the remainder of the auctions a combined effort behind the scene is being made by forum members to get the latest position. I do apologize for the delay but other then keep asking for updates it is outside our control.

charidee starts here, by Harveyn on Dec 19, 2007 8:11:00 GMT 1, Hi Folks
Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful donations and for all of those who have bid and/or won the auctions run to date.
As you know I along with Silky have been pushing hard for auctions to commence and for more regular updates. I really do apologize for all the delays.
The latest update from Verbal is as follows.
The target is no longer to donate the money for Christmas. The Hospice has arrangements already for the kids who are well enough to attend.
All auctions remaining will be put up on Saturday / Sunday and will be completed by the end of the year. The money will be used at the Hospice for more permanent productive things.
I will ask Verbal to ensure that no auctions complete on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Eve as I think this would restrict the amount of money gathered.
I do appreciate that after Christmas is often a time when money has been spent and there may not necessarily be a lot to go around. But it is also a time for family and for reflection. So I would ask that you dig deep and continue with your generosity. What a great way to finish the year and bring in the new.
Again I apologize for the delay and poor communication but please keep up the great work we as a forum are doing.
I will continue to keep a detailed report of all results on the main thread and I will ensure a full audit-able trail is available from the Charity itself.

I find myself having to apologize once again for something that is truly outside my control. I have not heard a single word from Verbal after the latest promise date given for putting the donated art pieces up on Ebay has elapsed (23.12.2007).
I am so sorry that this has turned out like this.
For those forum members who have won and paid but not received their artwork please contact me. I already have the details of one such member.
You have my word I will not let this go and that every piece will be auctioned and every penny donated to Bluebell.
I am lost for words and can offer no further explanation.
I have no doubt that it has always been Verbal's full intention to eventually complete this process and I am positive he will do so. That said I can offer no excuse for the delay and all I can say is I will pursue this to it's appropriate conclusion.
Please all of you have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.
Thanks Neil
