I actually laughed when I saw the page update, and sent a panicky email as quick as I could. I don't mind fastest fingers first one bit, levels the playing field. And just because people on here and EB etc didn't get lucky that doesn't mean it was the worst release ever or just a big scam to get peoples email addresses etc. There's a big world out there outside of forums and Retna has a lot of fans. I didn't expect to get lucky on this release and didn't. Prints look lovely though, congrats brownbuffalo.

When I wrote them after seeing this thread he answered that he just received the approval for accepting preorders some minutes ago. Of course I immediately replied that I'd love to take that opportunity. |

I think the only difference is that some people known it was a send mail release. and it makes a difference when all here, waiting an add to cart button. Even if the result is the same.
And it also looks like too much print were sold to friends before the release day.
And the most beautiful is the fact that i send 3 or 4 mails to know if it was possible to preorder without a small reply (i think like much people here), and after the release date, just to laugh i send en email about about the AP's available and I receive a reply in the 30minutes to told me it was 5K.
In french, we say "les dรฉs etaient pipรฉs depuis le debut" and in english " the deck is stacked "

Whats not to understand? This is the banksy forum, its full of whining, bitter, complaining bellends these days. Just look at the new posts section, full of people complaining either about missing a print or the price of a CYW being to high.

It's frustrating when you miss out, but no system for print drops is perfect.
I just scored a rather lovely OG due to a prerelease (not retna), but I know it was a lucky break and next time it will be someone else, and me complaining when the drop happens... It's the way of the world!!

Then they waited exactly 2 minutes after 12 to post the "new" instructions to the public. As you know 2 minutes in drop time is like 2 hours normal time. Thus ensuring those they told would have an extremely good chance.
I got an email from Rigo at 3AM yesterday to my enquiry earlier in the week about the pre-release, that the drop was "online only".
In addition, it doesn't look good to be hawking $5K sets to basically anyone, 30 mins before the supposed drop.
That sort of professional conduct doesn't make me want to get on Baurmann gallery's mailing list that's for sure

Also yes I understand people get frustrated about these things but it seems every release the gallery or whoever just gets totally panned completely out of proportion. I'm sure there never used to be this much venom over releases. They might not get everything right all the time, but we need passionate, sometimes a bit sketchy or unprofessional but in-it-for-the-love-of-it independent galleries to be out there supporting artists and having a go. If I got the amount of grief these people do i'd probably not bother!
