This then makes their work more accessible and not closing off existing and potential fans. I just hope for all your sake they stay popular. Massive risk if you want this for long term investment. Just my opinion though As for the price of printing? Sorry but that does not really justify the cost.most artists would make their money on the original (and there is one out there) and use the prints as a bit extra. Does make me think 99 prints looked on here before the release to see what people will pay and maybe you guys set the price Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards
Tis very true. Take the number of prints available, consideration between well know artists release and aftermarket prices, popularity, time the artist(s) have been "on the scene" and multitudes of other factors and it all makes pretty good sense. Most well known artists are accessible…not inexpensive, but accessible. These dudes are both highly collectible AND inaccessible.

Congrats to anyone that picked one up. I would say that even at 4K you got a deal, and anyone that says that this isnt worth it doesn't know the value of the twins. These guys will not be forgotten, they are not hyped like some of the other artists I wont mention. The twins bring not only talent but honest work that captures so many aspects of their personal history. I doubt anyone could touch a original near 4K unless it was a sticker or something. If you do then you should buy it, paintings are way out of reach for most of us. Besides now being represented by Lehmann Maupin in NY they have some large projects in the works. I doubt the twins will all of a sudden flood the market with other releases to bring the rarity of this print down. They are calculated in their moves in a broader sense that has enabled them to capture the elite collectors. Unfortunately for us we are now priced out, and thus why this print is a bargain IMO.

I know a few people collectors and art dealers who've ask them big commands of paintings at once and can pay it at high prices, offer them the biggest contracts, they do not want, they laugh of it, they do not do all that for the hype.

Great. I know it sold out and everything, that's not much of a surprise with as insanely frantic as you street art collectors can be. I really feel like the price is taking advantage of certain factors present in this particular market and artist. Because really, if not overpriced, it's at the very high end in terms of pricing. Prices can vary widely depending on what went in to it, sure but you can get very high quality lithos, screenprints etc. from some of the worlds best living artists for less than this, sometimes much much less. Really disappointing. The twins aren't that old and they will likely produce more editions in their career, hopefully more accessible than this, if not, whatever I will happily live without...

Do you mean that because it was printed onto a segment of building wall, it's rendered totally outside of their realm?
When I think Os Gemeos I think of bright, vibrant backgrounds with loads of patterns, texture & detail. I get that they have a (recent?) series of wall images of figures emerging from grey concrete, but if I was to drop significant cash on an OsG image, I would want it to reflect those typical characteristics, it just seems a really unambitious image and IMO works rendered onto a wall, but doesn't so well as a print.
They might have other images in the pipeline that better fit the bill for me... but probably not if they are at this price-point.

Everyone who thinks that price is good and has an extra $6600 sitting around of disposable income , kudos to you and yours. Most of us i think would again find charging that much is not first of all within our reach and second no way they priced this for there fans but simply to cash out. They are plenty well to do at this point in the game, and could have very easy made this $1000 wich is still expensive but at least most could of had a chance to have a piece of there art. Best....
