OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by kbfrombk on Jan 31, 2014 19:03:40 GMT 1, All banks are different and the scene is further muddled when zooming out onto an international scale. money doesn't always just FLY instantly in a snap from one country to another. Just as it'll take 2-3 days for a payment to show up on your bank account (go from pending, to completed, to fully executed), it also take similar, sometimes, on the other end as far as acknowledged receipt, acceptance, clearance, and full receipt. If anything I would say that they're still waiting for YOUR actual payment to clear into their account(s), before remitting refund. Sure they could refund you from the many funds they've accumulated but I guess for the sake of clean organization it might be best to do matching sets of refunds? This was my initial thought. I had emailed them initially as I never received any sort of confirmation or acknowledgement of my purchase. I did this twice. 2 days later and no reply, so I emailed again. The response was that the payment was never forwarded. Something I thought was strange. I left it until today where I have confirmed with my bank, the card company too that the payment has left and the company has got it. I was then told today I will get my refund today - this is an acknowledgment they have the payment as opposed to yesterday's email where they said it wasn't their problem. hmmm, yeah, i do not know man. I would still say there's some delayed transfer issues happening, and while 99P confirms you've paid (because their system reflects as much), on the actual BANKING level they have not had funds landing yet.
It's a pain in the ass trust me I've dealt with this crap too many times to feel good about.

Cheers mate.
Would just prefer a response that at least acknowledges my issue. If they said we'll give it back in a week, month it's fine. Just for peace of mind.

It's not the money. My actual issue is the no confirmation of the order. It doesn't exist.

That is a disappointing post. The gallery has evidently not handled this well, whatever the price.

Weird that they've sorted out some prints incredibly quickly and seemingly be slow to respond to some people's issues.

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Winter on Jan 31, 2014 20:09:01 GMT 1, I have to say it is disgusting that they haven't got back to me. I actually think 99prints are arrogant ar$$$$$eholes. I had a slight issue with payment and it looks like they have taken advantage and dropped my order altogether without any communication. They have no contact number and come across as some shady outfit. What other business would people get away with behaving like that? Has anyone actually read their Ts&Cs? Says a lot about them.

Oh please if you could comprehend for the hundredth time we all saw the picture of the image. I looked at it for 15 minutes before buying it. Plus if you follow their art, it was easy to tell from the blurry image which image they were releasing.
"Please don't take it the wrong way" and then you call people who like it "fools" for buying it. That's just rude and immature.

Looks like a bit of a shambles but then in the urban art world we should all be used to that?
That said, perhaps the gallery realise that there are some who are not bothered about acquiring the print but more worried about the value of their art 'balance sheet', which says it all really?

you are demanding that all art be sold & distributed by some mega-conglomerate corporate company, but I contend I prefer the sort of "winging-it" style of J.R. (who is an artist, yes?) just tossing this together and getting it done himself (with whatever help he's got).
Things haven't worked out for EVERYone, but hey it never would have if it were released by anywhere else either! And willnyc is already posting photos of his received print so I guess they succeeded rather wildly for SOME people...??
That's the thing. It's not a gallery! It's a completely spur-of-the-moment (but truly not because surely there was a bit of work put into previously setting it up, whether or not its up to your standards!) website that presumably J.R. helped set for the purpose of selling these prints for which there has been no precedent.

It doesn't take a huge team to reply to emails even if they have 1000 it shouldn't take more than a day to get back to people. No excuse.

I just think some of the backing-up rationalizations by people are a bit off-base and invalid. I think 2 days is a decent expectation for receiving an email response. Like I said earlier I would give benefit of the doubt toward the chance that they are still grappling with banking delays on both ends, before sending any sort of response.
Summary: Would you rather the situation be sussed out even if it takes 3-4 more days, or would you prefer hearing a simple Sorry You Lose within 1 day?
Clearly they do have product to deliver. People have tracking info and even hearing of at least one person who has it in hand -- considering these were sold at 3PM in France on Tuesday, that's a pretty decent turn-around!
I ordered some lame $70 poster from MONDO in fücking October and have yet to receive it!!

If you take people's money and don't have product to deliver, refunds and proper communication is not too much to ask. It doesn't take a huge team to reply to emails even if they have 1000 it shouldn't take more than a day to get back to people. No excuse. I 100% agree and sympathize with the frustration.

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by dreadnatty on Jan 31, 2014 20:54:32 GMT 1, If you're a business, or pretend to be one which releases Euro 400K of prints in one hit then it's not unreasonable that you should have the infrastructure to deal with that? Looks like a bit of a shambles but then in the urban art world we should all be used to that? That said, perhaps the gallery realise that there are some who are not bothered about acquiring the print but more worried about the value of their art 'balance sheet', which says it all really? This is just silly though. you are demanding that all art be sold & distributed by some mega-conglomerate corporate company, but I contend I prefer the sort of "winging-it" style of J.R. Surely they could have hired 1 or 2 people to deal with the aftershock which they had to realize was inevitable?

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by willnyc on Jan 31, 2014 21:00:56 GMT 1, i can understand the fustration with people that has paid and havent got their print yet, but i think it will be sorted out in another week, 99Prints isnt a big company. I believe there is only 3 people working. They arent the most tech savy people i assume.. this is their first release on line as well also.
With people complaining about the prices and no image it was a basic marketing stuff. I saw the image a few days before drop myself.
plus the price is set so the secondary market dont have much change to sell, they know what goes on like every other artist that sell prints.

What it comes down to is these are issues that do and could happen with any other print, artist, gallery, website, etc. I think the selling price is effecting people's sensibilities (understandably!).
