OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Gard on Feb 2, 2014 17:26:20 GMT 1, Thanks sal for finally speaking up to the bs he has been posting for the last week. I think this OG drop has brought the worst out in a lot of people. I have lost a lot of respect for members I earlier believed knew what they were talking about.

"Comparing them to Ericailcane or SAM3 is just hilarious"
Now I understand from which side you judge the art; but only til someone do not compare the twins to someone else in that sense; ...in that case: Fire and Flame!
Ok; I'm SORRY; I understand from your tones; It is precisely my frustration to emerge here! LOL
I thought we were on the banksy forum ..... how stupid am I??!!!
I can not believe I can't say what I think, just because each of you has spent 4k euro for this.
Keep calm and be happy; life is short.

Nope it's the current rate. I lost about £70 on a Herakut refund that took about 6 months to go through and that was via PayPal.

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Limited Prints on Feb 2, 2014 19:34:43 GMT 1, Ok here's a new one... I was one of the many that thought they had scored a print - with purchase confirmation and everything - only to receive the dreaded "refund email". The money was deducted from my account, and subsequently refunded, BUT...because of the time between when I thought I had purchased the print and when the money was refunded, the exchange rate had fluctuated so this is now a USD 300+ loss for a non-purchased print. What to do?? Any advice??? that's pretty fucked up. Im almost positive if the rates had worked the other way you wouldn't have made money. I would email them and let them know whats going on. No doubt the squeaky wheel gets greased. with a situation like this I would kindly ask to be put on a list and given first refusal of next. I would stay on it though.

I think this OG drop has brought the worst out in a lot of people. I have lost a lot of respect for members I earlier believed knew what they were talking about. One last note Gard; I follow the graffiti scene from the 90's; you're member since 2012; just because you have a couple, or more, of Dolk's canvases think you have more knowledge about art than someone else? or passion? ....at most you have a larger wallet. that has nothing to do with taste and art's knowledge. remember this. even for you eschiff .

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Deleted on Feb 2, 2014 21:21:52 GMT 1, Things seem to have calmed down on this thread..
Was the price point too high for Os Gemeos fans ? yes, without a doubt, it's a few months wages for most Brazillians and far in excess of any other print release EVER released and discussed on here. Was the edition size too little for a first release ? From a fans perspective, again, yes, without a doubt, a thousand at €400 would have made more sense. Was this targeted at the fine and contemporary art set ? yes, without a doubt. Does that piss off a few/many of their street level fans ? yes, should it ? Not sure. Do I really give a shit ? No, not anymore. The scene has developed this way. Good luck to them. Would I have given a shit 6 or 7 years ago ? absolutely. Power to the People.
Italians, Greeks, Spaniards, Central Europeans.. all coming at street art from a much more anarchistic background and history to the UK and US scenes. From a "street" "leftist" "keeping it real" perspective, the release sucked. I think that's Petrusino's point. And from that perspective, he's absolutely right. There are still more than a few anti capitalist street art fans on this board who are as likely to don a bandana or balaclava of a weekend as they are their weekends finest for some swanky sponsored art opening.
peace

Law Enforcement / Security / : 25,000 BRL a month
The inequality I saw when there was some of the most extreme I've ever seen

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Deleted on Feb 3, 2014 0:07:09 GMT 1, I don't believe that they really give a s*** about the average Brazilian by pricing this so high. I guess they must have thought that if the market is in the US and Europe then why care if their own countrymen cannot afford a print? After all, as people have pointed out, they knew this would sell out.

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Lunch Special on Feb 3, 2014 2:02:01 GMT 1, The people of Brazil receive plenty of art for free in the streets where the twins paint. Its obvious this print was directed at the collectors, the galleries and in some shape or form, its there way of introducing themselves into the print market. They have done a number of collabos with Nike and other major corporations havent they? They have published how many books with photos of there art? They were part of a number of high profile shows and exhibits. So there art has been made available to the public to see and enjoy but this was made for a different audience.
Im excited to see whats to come.

I also think it's a long shot, never would have predicted this happening though.
