OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Deleted on Feb 13, 2014 8:10:23 GMT 1, When did this place get full of so many wet flannels. Whats happened. I like many others have been here since 2006 odd. In that time we have seen a movement thrive then die on its arse pretty much because of all the t**ts watering down quality. No wonder artists think it is acceptable to release toot these days, as some moron is guaranteed to buy it. Those dface and obey prints were awful as well. Only one thing can save all of this and that is if people stop thinking everything that gets released is worth buying. Theres been some right bluddy s**t coming out lately. It makes zbiok look like sodding claude monet. Get a grip you lot who keep wasting your money. Putting any of this into the category of 'art' is quite frankly insulting. Its pound shop material. Well said FЯ !! Totally agree with you !! But then I saw you avatar and I realised I thinking exactly the same about Jay-Z clowning in hype galleries and calling it art cheers

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Deleted on Feb 13, 2014 11:24:00 GMT 1, I now will forever cringe with the term "I am buying it because I like the Image". To each their own. Also JPS coming in here trying to troll the thread is icing on the cake. Jps trolling the thread? Reading back seems he was actually dragged into this thread by people accusing him of being responsible for this awful print, he has just as much right to comment on any threads in this forum as you.
fact is this print isn't by banksy or jps. Its by outis everybody who brought this print has nothing more than a 1st print by a person called outis.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Dr Plip on Feb 13, 2014 11:28:49 GMT 1, Well, eBay isn't exactly awash with these, which is nice for a change. Now, do people think is this because these prints have all gone to people that bought it as a lovely image to enjoy and own? Or did flippers shy away as they thought there was no money to be made here? Or are they being held onto in case they flip them for too little at first? (awaiting a Banksy connection)

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by gorkie on Feb 13, 2014 11:34:02 GMT 1, People should buy what they like and not buy what they don't like.
Just because one person says something is garbage doesn't mean jack to the person who bought something because they like an image. In my opinion it is pretty arrogant to give people a hard time about purchasing something if they genuinely liked the image. Actually, it's pretty darn ignorant.
In the case of Love Hurts, I genuinely like the image and that is why I bought. That and I thought the process behind the idea was also pretty clever as well. And I also happen to think it was fairly priced.
And if some people don't believe that some bought because they truly like the image then that is even more presumptuous and arrogant. It's like the religious right thinking they are correct in their beliefs because they "know" they have God on their side.
And I will never understand why all the haters spend so much time in a thread about a topic or work/image they think is s**t. I wouldn't spend 1 minute of my life in a thread about something I thought was crap or was just a crap stunt.
Get. A. Life.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by raindogs on Feb 13, 2014 12:04:06 GMT 1, Good point gorkie . I don't like the image, I haven't purchased it, and I only think that who likes it has different tastes, can't judge if better of worse than mine. De gustibus non disputandum est ! I think that the discussion here is more based on the marketing approach to the sale: the image is Banksy evocative, the gallery assumes to have received it from a "mysterious artist" that they even don't know (to be sincere, pretty difficult to believe). Working on Banksy attitude to jeer the art market (the BOTI sale in Central Park, the creation of MBW) they built the hype around a print that otherwise would have been completely ignored. You can call it something like a deceptive or misleading practice, or on the other side another test about the art market, and about art collectors' reactions to a provocation someway in the Banksy style. If the (poor) edition is sold out and if the forum produced 12 pages about it (and I am adding more silly words to the thread) it means that the test -whatever they want and whoever started it- did the trick.

'Simply put, when you respect knowledge sufficiently, you don’t fear criticism, and fear of criticism is a powerful barrier to growth.'
(is this online world we're building, of stereotyping critics negatively 'haters', 'trolls', fear the critique, a world where we never change?)

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by jaslfc5 on Feb 13, 2014 14:54:38 GMT 1, I got excited by this print with all the Facebook messages and speculation on here ,I was going to have a punt on it very selfishly to flip as I need to pay for my solar panels. The fact that I thought it was going out today at 3pm has put paid to all my grand hopes of making a quick buck and probably why I don't get involved in flipping and buying hype releases.
This thread has made up for my slight disappointment though we'll done . Whoever is behind the print clearly knows how the market works and has watched or has been involved in banksys career ,if it isn't anything to do with Mr b then I think it's just what is needed right now a bit of mystery and intrigue makes it a lot more fun.
Those who bagged a print well done and may all your flips be fruitful.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by microfluo on Feb 13, 2014 15:45:27 GMT 1, Be interesting to see how all of this will play out. It seems we are facing maketing 3.0 in here. Needless to say cleverly done ! A fact is : it will play out as everyone who bought it has scored an "Outis". The 0,1% chance that it may come from another mysterious artist will remain at that odds as Outis will never come off the bushes with another name than "Outis". Anyway if you love the image it's great if you've scored one. Discussing with your friends about the rat trap, you will have a nice story to tell about the image if someone is asking you some day if the work belongs to Outis himself
