Most people don't want their full names posted by other members in public forums. And like I said, I don't know either of them. Nice that they have you to speak for them, though.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Ottomatik on Feb 13, 2014 21:29:20 GMT 1, I havent been following the threads about this release, but I will say that this is the best hype we've seen since MBW circa 2009!
I dont agree with all the secret shite, but if it's gonna make a gallery more cash, so be it.
I'm amazed by the 14 pages we have here from an unkown. Whomever threw Banksys' name into this hat was a clever man. You should take credit and get a free print, because you were the reason for the sell out!

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Prescription Art on Feb 13, 2014 21:29:23 GMT 1, It's blindingly obvious that it's not Banksy! Why do people keep saying it might be? My question is, if an image is widely panned before people know who it is by, does their opinion change simply by revealing the true identity of the artist? I actually think the print is quite decent. The mousetrap hidden in the flowers does raise it a level above most Banksy copycats.
However when i'm buying art i'm not just buying a 'nice image'... i'm buying into the skills and practice that an artist has developed over many years. If it's a 'nice image' you want then go to Athena and buy a poster.
That is why when taken out of context, many people just see the Os Gemeos print as a 'yellow man' and can't fathom why someone would pay more than £3000 for it. Well it's for the same reason that someone paid nearly £400,000 for a couple of googly eyes stuck onto a picture of Rembrandt this week. You are not buying every piece of art in isolation and assessing it as an image. You're buying something that fits into the context of an artists' entire body of work.
That is why for me spending £150 on a print by somebody who doesn't exist outside this single piece of paper is far more ridiculous than spending £3000 on a print by Os Gemeos.
And also why I wouldn't have the nerve to charge £150 for a print by an artist that i'd supposedly only ever seen one image by.

Wonder if Mr (or Mrs) "Outis" will do an MBW on us and release something every other week, and wonder if the next release will come with glitter and cost £500!?

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Prescription Art on Feb 13, 2014 21:37:20 GMT 1, However if you've bought one and you like it, your girlfriend likes it, and everyone has made a shit load of money, then where's the harm.
I just don't like the insinuations that Banksy may have been involved when he clearly wasn't.
As a piece of work it actually reminds me of this canvas by Fake i bought some years ago.
Though there is a difference between impersonating Banksy's style, and implying that you are Banksy.
And it was also something like £100 for an original canvas, rather than a large editioned print...
(though the fact he's churned out dozens of other versions since is a bit annoying, but that's a different matter!)

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Ottomatik on Feb 13, 2014 21:38:45 GMT 1, I actually think the print is quite decent. The mousetrap hidden in the flowers does raise it a level above most Banksy copycats.
Um.... For someone who is making a killing on overpriced Banksy secondary market prints, I'd expect nothing less from you than the above comment.
A freaking mousetrap raises it a 'level above most Banksy copycats,' for God's sake, I can't stop laughing!!!!!
Honestly, I can't breathe!!!!!

I'm 99.9% sure I'm not Outis, but if I was, I think it'd be something like a Rat holding an Elephant gun? Or a monkey. With a banana. A banana gun.
And of course, friendly ribbing aside, people are entitled to purchase and enjoy whatever print they desire. Unless they intend to use that print for evil.

It's not hard to raise something above the level of most Banksy copycats, as most banksy copycats are fucking awful.
2: My Banksy prints aren't overpriced ,-)

Have you seen the image? I think it'd be even worse with a banksy signature on it. As stated earlier in the thread I bought the image and will hang it in my soon to be born daughters room. It's not the greatest bit of art ever, but certainly not worthy of all the abuse here.
