As far as the line on the back, my guess it will add about $5 per shirt, but I took that into consideration with the $20 estimate. My guess is about $7 for a good shirt (not really a guess, that much I know), about $8 or $9 to print the front digitally, $5 to screen print the back, and $1-$2 each for shipping from the printer.

Even of I'm a little off on the numbers, I don't think it would be by much.

I emailed the print shop to get a quote. In the meantime, I ran the numbers as best I could using their price chart. It came out to 18 and change on the shirts. I'm not sure how much shipping will be from the shop to me, but I think we're safe at $20 per shirt.

I'll start collecting money once I have an official quote. You can either send it as a gift, or as a regular payment. If you send it as a regular payment, I'll ask you to pay a dollar or two more to cover Paypal fees. If you want it insured, I'll add that on to shipping, but I was planning on sending them as gifts so you guys don't have to pay VAT.

Also, Justdeep was kind enough to mock up the artwork on the back. It'll look like this, give or take some minor tweaking.

Are all the buyers vegetarians? Jesus, this forum is just consumer central. Do you think Banksy would be proud of this place? This art installation and artwork was/is about our relationship with animals. From loving them as kids to getting someone else to do the dirty work and kill them for us and eating them when we're older. Is it just a BANKSY BANKSY BANKSY to you guys? Is that all it means? Consumer central.

also - I'd like to know if anybody knows - Was this meant as a protest to eating meat, or to the factory meat system?

There's a big difference in my eyes, even though I'm a vegetarian. I personally always viewd it as a message against the latter, but could be wrong

I know, It's just I hold Banksy in pretty high regards (rightly or wrongly) because of the things he seems to believe in. Consumerism isn't one of them. This particular day in his BOTI jolly was one of my very favourites and I just don't like his work about animal issues just being used for this. I'm not sure what it is really. What does it symbolise to you guys buying them?

I always thought it was questioning our relationship with animals from childhood. Kids love animals have animal toys to hug and comfort them. Then slowly, unspokenly we kill them and eat them.

The slaughter if animals doesn't sit comfortably for me, hence for many years I was a vegetation, but I lapsed.
The mistreatment of animals whilst alive sits even less well, and the transportation of animals is a huge issue, especially in mainland Europe.
But I honestly don't think that what the OP is doing here is a bad thing. He's not making any profit, so he's not turned it in to a commercial venture.
If anything, producing the shirts night make the people wearing them and people who see them think a little about the conditions animals are transported in, which is the point of the original piece of art, imho.

And remember happy meal that art is always open to interpretation, and just because you assumed this piece was a statement about animal rights doesn't mean other people can't buy a T shirt that is actually just a funny picture of cuddly toys.
