Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by Agent Provocateur on Sept 13, 2014 23:48:18 GMT 1, any news yet? If this was his big appearance in the NY art market, I think he has a lot to improve. quite disappointed.
Sorry, not sure where you're coming from, the show hasn't happened yet and you're disapointed?

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by Deleted on Sept 14, 2014 8:02:10 GMT 1, No Laz wont have to pay vat, if it sells in ny they are effectively selling it outside the eu so they wont be charged vat themselves. What I am saying is that as they're a UK business and sell work all over the world at a cost of actual price + 20% I don't believe that they are going to drop the prices to reflect the change in sales tax. I think that they will just leave their standard asking price including VAT, but not say that it includes VAT. That is, they will just pocket what they would normally charge VAT on. I don't recall Graffiti Prints dropping their prices by 20% when they sold their wares in NYC in August but then again those were created in the UK so maybe different rules apply. Interesting post PB. As a potential UK buyer surely you can claim one lot of tax back?
Otherwise you'd pay VAT (because it would be added to the price but not 'stated' as such, if I get what you're saying correctly) domestic US sales tax, then import duty! Triple whammy?
Irrespective of this, the level of skill is just incredible. The lack of information represents standard marketing techniques, or so it seems.

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by Feral Things on Oct 12, 2014 20:37:45 GMT 1, Thanks again to @federationofideas for the show card; much appreciated.
The full Eat and Delete installation video is now available online. vimeo.com/107344568http://vimeo.com/107344568
Unfortunately, I've only seen photos of the show online, so it's hard to get a proper feel for the show but the show doesn't feel quite as coherent as Dead Meat.ย I think it's the fact that most of the works are about geo-politics but then there's the one piece about pornography or the fact that only some of the works ended up directly referencing pieces from the National Gallery.ย That said, the Dead Meat show set a very high bar and these are still some of the most impressive and thought provoking works I've seen this year.ย I thought the portraits were particularly strong; almost as if the previous Morning Glories depicted the basic characteristics of the sitter but these portraits feel like they depict the full character and personality of the sitter.

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by The Jokers Puppet on Oct 13, 2014 14:25:55 GMT 1, I agree with those sentiments. I thought Dead meat was superb and Headless heroes before it. Huge Conor fan and lucky enough to have bought some pieces before prices went crazy (good for him!) but not quite sure what to make of this last show. I love the fact that Conor keeps moving it on in style but I think the issue I have with this show is the background blurb sounds dated. If it had been done in 2009 it would have been current but East v West? Empires collapsing? Too much greed leading to war/ collapse etc The East is in as much a mess as the West. Not sure who is winning. Maybe that what he is trying to portray? No one wins in the endโฆcue painting of skull. Then comes the porno thing which is a little tired as well in concept although nice painting. The staging does take something away I feel. As others have said the big pieces feel a little more forced. Crazy good artist no question. I quess my expectations were sky high after Dead Meat and the secret build up to this show which went on for ever.
