Could'nt agree more Jeez, child abuse is the worst crime you can get and the sentence given was an insult to the victims and their families. I also feel sorry for Bindi and his wife who's now an old women and has realised her life partner and father of her child was all along an evil monster praying on innocent children. He'll be heavily protected in prison, there will be plenty of inmates looking to take justice into their own hands at the first opportunity , many of the inmates will have children who watched Rolf and most likely the inmates themselves, I don't think he'll make it back out one way or the other.

This is my line of work - investigating this and supervising those who do. I am regularly devastated by the sentencing It's a life sentence for the victims every time Sickened.

Yes. He will also be on the sex offenders register for life. Highly likely to serve sentence in vulnerable prisoners wing due to his age, offences and celebrity. Will probably end up teaching art to prisoners or something.

Turn the other cheek mate. But sorry you are getting grief. That's horrid. Don't give him the satisfaction of getting a rise out of you. Re Harris, I understand the case has been referred on to question whether the sentence was too lenient. Bit I think the judges hands are tied by the fact that he has to follow the sentencing limits prevalent at the time of the offences. There is a good legal philosophical reason for that. Criminal law should never act retrospectively. Both in relation to what is a crime and sentencing. Despicable crimes no doubt. But I wouldn't like to see the law changed to allow criminal law to apply retrospectively. Whilst on this occasion it would be done for equitable reasons it would be a very slippery slope

This will probabaly finish rolf off to be honest - would a bigger sentence make any difference to rolfs activities or would it just be a sop to the red top outrage that has been ratcheted up ?

Rolf has letters after his name right?? A cynical man might assume a man without those letters would've got a longer sentence

If some of the offences alleged and convicted had been post- 2003 when an amended sexual offences act cake in, then he would have been Charged with rape But for offences under the old act - 1956 - maximum sentence for what was classed then as indecent assault carried 2 year sentence per offence.

Can't say I'd miss him if he did decide on this course of action.

Hope you..., by kittysaz on Jul 10, 2014 8:00:54 GMT 1, Did I say in the words you use that the system was crap? No. I may be a police officer I am also a human being who is entitled to have a opinion on something I deal with every day, and have dealt with for 12 years of my 25 year service this far. The system is flawed. But it is all we have. We are also still working with 80 year old law on child cruelty but then again it's all we have. Just because of my job do I have to think such a system is good? No. I don't. But I work with what I have. All I am is an impartial gatherer and collector and presenter of evidence. Juries make the decisions.

Hope you..., by Wearology on Jul 10, 2014 9:35:08 GMT 1, I would like to make a comment as an active forum member since 2007 and not as a Moderator. I have been wanting to say this for the past 12 months, but have found myself biting my tongue because of my position on this forum but I can no longer just sit by and watch what's happening here without saying anything. Our forum has lost it's way a bit recently and we should nip it in the bud before it gets even more out of control. There are so many great forum members on here, but it seems that we are allowing the handful of members whose only purpose is to start trouble, antagonize, profiteer & bully other forum members represent our community. When I used to meet people and talk about the forum they always had great things to say how it was an amazing launching pad for new artists or a chance to get a good insider price on a piece of street art or a heads up on a undisclosed release or an upcoming art event. Now when I talk about the forum to people they say that place is over run by arseholes who love to bully or so many people have multiple IP addresses and they are only on there to talk up or talk down art so they can manipulate the price or most people aren't there for the art they are there for the potential to make money. I believe that there are several factors that have led to this occurrence and 90% of it has to do with the high stakes money that is now involved that was not an issue just a few years ago. I have definitely fallen prey to this myself and have sold way too much art on here & EBAY for profit over the past 12 months. Is it possible to just get back to the art or has the combination of Banksy's daily sky rocketing prices on the secondary market, his lack of releases the past few years and just the overall economic climate of our scene just gotten too out of hand. I am curios to know your thoughts because other people I bet feel the same way as I do but are just afraid to publicly state the obvious.

who do you think you are calling someone out and naming their profession. However to take you upon the point. Surely it is a good thing that police officers (even though your quote is wrong as usual) speak out if they think the system or process is wrong. Ehhhh that's democracy surely, freedom of speech..... "I am regularly devastated by the sentencing" I think was the quote you were referring to. Which I think is a very open and honest reaction that many people feel to some of the sentencing that goes on to some despicable crimes. Or do you think the "it's a life sentence for the victims" is a wrong opinion to have???
there are lots of comments about the old system but must say I think he should have received the maximum sentence available to the judge which I think he didn't. He showed no remorse at all for his crimes and forced the victims to ergo through the pain and experiences so I have no sympathy for him and will not shed a thought if he gets his come up prance inside
This has to be one of the worst threads this forum has ever had. I hope so anywho. First we got members wishing another human being dead. I wonder if the members would be happy to do it themselves? Scary. Then we have a member (and serving member of the police force) saying how crap the system is. A system that they are a part of. How encouraging. Truly horrible situation curiousgeorge FFS find a way to stay cool. The truth will out. Pah. Lot of angry peoples out there. Hopefully it helps a bit to write it on a forum.

Hope you..., by Deleted on Jul 10, 2014 9:51:12 GMT 1, I would like to make a comment as an active forum member since 2007 and not as a Moderator. I hope this isn't in response to my comments in the Donut valuation thread. I agree completely and it's the reason i haven't frequented this forum for the past 6-8 months. I've only been on this forum for 3 years and It's nothing like when I first joined. Dry and hostile for the most part, and I can't see any way of getting back. There are still good people on this forum though and it's still a goldmine for street art knowledge- you just have to fight through the bulls**t and the idiots to find it. Agreed - On the verge of giving up myself - only stay with it for the good art stuff that comes through. All the other nasty (or otherwise) stuff is depressing. Some of the (non-art related) views expressed on here can be terrifying.

Hi Wearology..
Please delete this thread if its offending people. Did you mean to add this post here? As it doesn't mention anything about Rolf Harris? On pricing, sniping, bullying etc.. My views are banksy and other artists are now big business and everyone wants a piece, it's enevitable you will have people with different views when it comes to money. Don't forget members create sales threads for free, if they want a hassle free sale put it on ebay. Forums are for opinions, so people will have an opinion on someone's price. This forum is great as it a discusses and covers the whole spectrum including so many artists (mainly through SAL adding daily events etc.)and different styles, i have got into different music (through the likes of coach's friday night wine sessions) daily affairs, sport, advice etc.. if people get offended by anything just ignore. Same as every forum out there. Art is there to be criticised, that's why I don't understand banning people for a few days for saying they don't like a particular work by an artist. It's all healthy debate.. Think some people just look into it too far, life's too short..
