Yeah thatโs the art world as we know it.

makes me realize that he is not only a douchebag of an artist but also far away from what I'd call skillful.
I initially liked the print until I found out how he "created" it. A good artist would have been able to draw this up from his mind or with the fair use of reference photos.
Art-collectors should be aware of these things and shouldnt promote such bad behaviour by an artist by buying these prints in my opinion. A skillful artist will never need to do such a thing and the longtime value of a print like this from my point of view is towards zero.
MBW, Shepard Fairey are equally s**tty to me. Martin Whatson - never heard of him before - but now that I saw the thread about him - I have to wonder how people with such a limited imagination / skills can be become professional artists & why people would buy that garbage of art.

I don't think it's at all the same as some of the other examples you use. |
