don't know about the bookies, but there are no exit polls for the referendum.  Media outlets aren't allowed to report on it as a way to stop influencing undecided voters so unlike the US with 24-hour polling we won't know till 6:30am.  So not sure where you're seeing that?  Could very well be a no but who knows!

right, polling closing at 10 right so that's why the BBC coverage starting then.  I just meant that at this point we don't have any info about where it's heading right?  We'll start getting the deluge in about an hour.  Or perhaps i misunderstood but if so it's frustrating i haven't found any info on it yet!

I was quite surprised to see that this is actually quite big news all around the World, the Daily Fail have a gif showing the worldwide heat traces of all the tweets mentioning the referendum for the past few months. The USA have been reporting this almost as much as the UK itself. Half the world is keeping an eye on this....

I respect Scotland's right to choose, I am a patriotic and proud Englishman and I am also a great supporter of The United Kingdom - whoever might choose to be a part of that.

What I abhor is the media-sucking whining and posturing of extremists on either side who don't represent ordinary people.

my heart says yes, my head says no. positives of a yes vote as i see it: scottish self-determination and a potential re-assessment of the Barnet formula for wales.

negatives of a yes vote: we're staring down the barrel of a lifetime of tory governments in england

i think the real positives are the massive turn-out (looking like it might be 80%+) and also the internationalism on show not just from europe but worldwide. not to mention the way that everyone registered who LIVES in scotland has a vote regardless of where they come from - that's a real message of "we're all in this together" (cameron take note)- refreshing!

well at the moment only two regions have officially declared turnouts, both around 84%. in the uk we are also lucky to get half that - in fact in some european parliament elections turnout is often as low as in the 20% range. also it seems more people aged 18-24 prefer to vote for big brother evictions (and in many ways i don't blame them). disenfranchisement makes me sad.

The great problem with this vote is it is not designed for the scots to choose independence.

I desperately hope they don't choose it as I fear it will not work for the average bloke as it is politically rigged.

For it to be real it should have been designed so that the independence vote/scenario was a success if chosen or not or the vote should not have taken place.

It is wrong that the choice is choose the Union or Independace but if you choose independence you might be fucked.

both Salmon and the Tories are dishonest. This whole concept comes from other horse trading not from a fair desire concept. Neither of these two really cares whether it means more or less jobs and more or less prosperity for the average working man.
