Space Invaders removed from the Street, by khog on Oct 15, 2014 22:35:52 GMT 1, I'm curious as to what he uses to secure them in place. It can't be silicone, some type of mortar or grout, epoxy maybe? Silicone could be removed rather easily without damage but mortar or grout would require some effort and would definitely damage either the tiles, building or both.

That said, i think you can sleep easy. An invader would seem to be darn hard to take down intact and without damaging the tiles. In the case of invader, this could be classed as criminal damage in removing it, as chances are you are going to damage the building trying to get it off intact.

Space Invaders removed from the Street, by Deleted on Oct 16, 2014 1:21:14 GMT 1, Hi everyone, This is my first post in this forum and I really hope not the last. I am very new to this world. I got into it by accident, but the more I learn, the more I realize what are the Do's and Don'ts and I am afraid I have made a couple of big Don'ts! I need some guidance and advice. Basically, the story is this: A Couple of years ago, a friend of mine was in some financial trouble and didn't want help. He just wanted to sell some of his stuff. I have seen these "invaders" on his wall, and we agreed on a price. These "invaders" are actually original ones that he had removed from their original location and re-assembled and framed. He has provided me with pictures of the pieces in their original location, along with picture of them being removed and finally, their picture as being put back together to be framed. In hindsight, I understand how disgusting this is, and how much it goes against the artist's original intension, but what can I do. I'd like some advise on what to do with these as I am not even sure I should keep them on my wall, although - I have to say - I really like them. I have 6 of them from France, Spain, Switerland and Ireland. Thanks, O. You could make a nice mosaic out of them.

I really think he adapts the glue to the surface. Also the type of pressure that he can apply, ie if he's dangling off the edge of a ladder or not!

Space Invaders removed from the Street, by opsami77 on Oct 18, 2014 20:29:36 GMT 1, I have received a lot of feedback, some her eon the forum and some through PMs. Basically, everyone agrees that stealing is wrong and I agree as well, but Hello! I did not steal anything here. The advise I have received so far is either 1- Put them up in Dubai (where I live) and I can't do that for two reasons: a) police doesn't kid around here and b) I have no clue how to hold the tiles together 2- Return them to their original locations: That's just not feasible 3- Keep them on my wall and enjoy them So I am going with option 3. As for the two/three comments that imply I am fishing for offers, thank you for giving me that much credit! I am not that smart nor that deviant. They are not for sale. And as one of the last comments said, there is now way to prove origin or authenticity, so I clearly have overpaid for them!

Space Invaders removed from the Street, by yojoe007 on Nov 2, 2014 8:15:35 GMT 1, Further to the last auction, I received the following email when asking to see the "before" photos:
"Dear All.
I am recieving a lot of questions asking for the pictures of the work in situ. These are exclusively for the winning bidder because I don't want them to be spread around the internet and perhaps getting abused. Street art is my passion as well and I want to protect it as well as possible. My documentation is the pictures and the provenance is the streets. I have pictures showing the work in situ, the work being removed and a picture of the yard and wall after removal.
Happy bidding.

Lol !
It almost looks like the thief is actually an imposter. To me it appears as if the guy stuck up the sonic tiles next to a legit piece to give it some credit, and promptly removed the fake piece to sell along with the fake removal pics. I don't have access to my Paris invasion book currently but if I remember correctly, invader's real sonic piece (the old one) looked much cooler than that one on eBay.

Space Invaders removed from the Street, by beatztom on Dec 28, 2014 14:21:57 GMT 1, Assuming the piece wasn't by invader I think it would probably be easier to remove; less experience with tiling.
The eBay listing appears to have been removed anyway, good riddance!

As Invader suggests his own website : - take a pic of the invader in place. - tear it off, most likely destroying it - take a picture of the invader gone - go to DIY store and buy tiles - rebuild invader "taken down from the wall" - sell to gullible clowns
He even gives the names of the shops where he buys his tiles

He was pissed at so many being removed so just simply pointed out that if people wanted an invader they could just build one in the same style rather than destroy a street piece
So you're summary should read like this - take a pic of the invader in place. - go to DIY store and buy tiles - build you're own copy - enjoy
It does also highlight how easy it would be to recreate a street piece and so people shouldn't ever buy his pieces that were solely intended for the street as they are very likely fake (and he will never authenticate them)

I am not implying invader is saying "try to steal my art, destroy it, and make some money" :-D
Of course he explaining how it is done so that -he reminds people it won't be authenticated - adds that you are probably not even getting the actual wall piece that was ripped off - reminds that the tiles are just standard, from the shops he mentions, and not signed so they have no intrinsic value as a tile
So indeed you are better off building your own
