A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by gbh on Nov 29, 2006 9:26:44 GMT 1, OK, my A1 folio is just not big enough for some prints these days (Applause, Invader Space File, etc.).
Besides framing them, what is the next best method? Keep em in the tube?

yeah, that's looking like it. Perhaps I should be spending less on prints and more on frames.

www.secol.co.uk/
archive materials, as posted in thread above go up to A0 size in acid free plastic sleeves, tissue, board. You can also get protective gloves there too.
You can get A0 size portfolios from here: www.secol.co.uk/ Look for the Plax Corrugated PVC Case, around 50 quid.

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by smashedhat on May 2, 2007 12:22:18 GMT 1, I didn't come across a decent A0 portfolio during my recent reccy to find me one (went for A1 in the end).
There was one in the art shop on shoreditch high street but it was expensive and very ugly - made out of corrigated plastic. It was also impossible to find A0 sleeves!
I'd be interested to know if anyone has found anything decent though as i have a couple of oversized prints languishing in tubes still

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by irf2112 on May 2, 2007 12:56:36 GMT 1, For a portfolio of A0 size you'd have to go for the most rigid one you can find. Otherwise it'd be like handling Rolf Harris's "Wobble Board". I have an A1 portfolio at the moment. Am considering moving to A0 as I hate leaving prints in tubes. I bet there are quite a few Applauses out there still in tubes...

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by Strange Al on May 2, 2007 12:59:18 GMT 1, If you're in London, for A0 portfolios check out Atlantis: www.atlantisart.co.uk/
I've said it before, but I love the place!! And no, I don't work there.
That said, finding an A0 portfolio with ring binders is much more of a mission. Definitely seems to be a bit of a gap in the market, waiting for someone to fill it.

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by RBK on May 2, 2007 19:33:03 GMT 1, Keep me posted if you find one. So far I think the best solution I've found so far are these: www.dickblick.com/zz169/34/ and then put acid-free mountboard in the middle so they aren't flimsy. I'm still holding out for a flip-page portfolio though. Anyone in the US found this elusive product?

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by Andy'77 on May 5, 2007 8:47:52 GMT 1, I bought an A1 portfolio for my smaller prints, then have any large ones sandwiched between two huge pieces of hardboard that I've lined with multiple layers of acid free tissue paper. I've then sealed it with tape to prevent dust getting in and put it flat under my sofa. Not ideal for viewing purposes and was a bit hairy trying to get them flat while I put the top board on but as least they are safe and there's no chance of bending. Maybe not great but it's got to be better than keeping them in tubes.
