Parasite π΅π± New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by Oski on Mar 3, 2015 20:36:16 GMT 1, Ok, that's just crazy. I saw the announcement, had some free time, so watched parasite's shop and reloaded it like a maniac. Clicked "Add to Cart less than a second after it appeared. And... gone. Whoa. Congrats to whoever (or should I say "whatever"?) managed to buy this one. I've had this experience as well but persisted to keep refreshing and it became available to cart moments later. This may either be due to (1) the sketch goes "On Sale" on his bigcartel but not actually activated yet by parasite, or (2) someone actually carted it and didn't complete the transaction. So I would suggest not giving up on it until it is actually shown as "Sold Out".

Parasite π΅π± New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by Sundowner on Mar 3, 2015 21:09:16 GMT 1, Well done to Parasite for creating a thread where we can see fresh, original art without the bulls**t that surrounds how much something is worth. Keep up the good work, this is one of the only threads I bother reading anymore and your work is getting better. More portraits please....

I enjoy the daily updates, showing various permutations of the black thing. It evolves and mutates around changing backgrounds. Quite interesting actually. Great people in this thread of positive discussions and creative interpretations...really what an art forum should be about.

Parasite π΅π± New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by Parasite on Mar 5, 2015 12:57:23 GMT 1, And today the next mutation of black sketch is earlier for other time zones

BLACK THING (sketch 00023) acryl on old print on paper 25 x 29 cm
with love from poland and as ever: shop. parasite .pl
& to remind those who want black sketches but they can't get them.. .........................................................................................................
OK. I have many personal messages and e-mails with questions like: "can I buy the black sketch directly from you?" and then I'm answering: I'm not selling them directly, those sketches are something like promo stuff or art pieces 'cheap as chips'. You have to catch it. but finally I change one's mind and I hit on the idea - you can get some the blacksketch directly but for a little different price : 177%. If the normal price is 17.71 Β£ then directly you can get it by 31.3467 Β£ best & cheers p

Parasite π΅π± New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by elwheel on Mar 5, 2015 17:35:39 GMT 1, Very nice Parasite.
There is something about this one that is almost annoying me - like a niggling thing that makes me want to go back to it several times to just stare at it and worry myself about what it is that is obliterated. Managed to buy it too (during a lecture on 'work breakdown structures' on criminally slow broadband) so I can enjoy that niggling feeling ad infinitum. Thank you.
Very nice Parasite.

Managed to buy it too (during a lecture on 'work breakdown structures' on criminally slow broadband) so I can enjoy that niggling feeling ad infinitum. Thank you. here we go, here's my luddite view.. The woman has many riches just for her represented by the food. Others can look in and see her riches but aren't able to communicate with her as one human to another. You can't see her, she doesn't want to see you and the black thing tilts down so that all she needs to see is her wealth without needing to pay attention to anything in the outside world. The only thing she gives the remotest attention to is a cat who's allowed into the thing, but no other person. If you haven't got a seat at her table you are not relevant.
There you go, probably bollocks but it's what I see. It's what I like about Parasite s work, it gets me thinking in a way I can't with other pictures. If I went into a gallery it would mean nothing to me. If I saw the same picture with the black thing missing all id see is a woman at a table.

Nice pickup elwheel and fantastic interpretation dashboll. Here's my take: It's a scene of conspicuous opulence as the wealthy woman is surrounded by corporeal excess of food, drink, and wares. The black thing is the antithesis, itβs simple and pure, and itβs economical in black and white. The black thing intervenes upon the scene to contain, restrict, and obscureβ¦a triumph against the bourgeois.

BTW I like the new scetch, parasite.

You cannot see what happens below that table and in what compromising situation this poor damsel was caught. I stick with my interpretation: blacked out for legal or privacy reasons. BTW I like the new scetch, parasite. Black Square -Kazimir Malevich 1923 (...) βAnyone can do thisβ β even if these words are not spoken aloud, they often accompany people who contemplate Black Square by Kazimir Malewicz, or other Modernist works of a similar style. Jackson Pollock's βsplashedβ paintings, as well as abstract and monochromatic pictures by Mark Rothko, encounter risk of the same estimation. What is difficult about scattering paint or covering surfaces with a just colour? And what does such a painting depict? If painting is about depicting β picturing and representing, an image like this, which shows emptiness, is an anti-image: it crowns a long process, during which its initial assumption β to demonstrate evidently and clearly β is turned to be its own contradiction. Famous is Joseph Beuys' slogan: βEveryone's an artistβ, and one of the most important achievements of Marcel Duchamp is opening the hitherto exclusive set of artistic items to infinite riches of reality, not only the material one but also the conceptual. A conceptual work of art is a lack: it is absolutely infinite for its creator, as not even commenced, and absolutely infinite for a recipient, as it is entirely undefined regarding its interpretation, dependent on the recipient's imagination. R. Mutt's Fountain makes art one huge non finito β a radical opposition to an academic fini.(...)

I think 3 is the most epic, its like a massive raised canopy that makes the whole picture seem 3 times bigger than it is.
6 is the best tho ! (imho) and really liking the portraits too.
