Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Shoot Again on Dec 24, 2014 9:51:05 GMT 1, Hate is a strong word and, for me at least, is reserved for people who are destroying people's lives rather than painting stencils on walls. Personally, I'm less bothered about the derivative style or vacuous subject matter as I am about the fact that Bambi appears to be metaphorically packaging up and selling on the scene that many of us love. Graffiti and street art are important parts of who people are; it's a source of beauty and inspiration, it's the mischief we got up to with mates late at night and it's a frame through which we view the world. So I think it's natural that people don't want graffiti and street art to have the same fate as other subcultures like the punk and grunge scenes which have been partially killed off by watered-down and highly-marketed bands sucking up all the oxygen. One of the appeals of graffiti and street art are that they're more of a democracy and meritocracy than other areas of life. So when someone usurps that with a paid for PR team and takes the focus away from writers and artists who have earnt their stripes it's bound to irk people. I'm not suggesting for one minute that the rest of the scene is some kind of utopian fantasy but, for many, Bambi represents the more extreme example of this so I'm guessing that's why he or she has become the focus of people's dislike. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to write down in a well articulated way (I personnally couldn't be bothered anymore more !) why Bambi is such a miserable PR stunt and is doing the Art World no favour ! It bothers me how some people here (luckily a minority) are still not even making the effort to read thoroughly all the numerous Threads posted in here in the past (explaining in details the ugly PR efforts, the Carpet Shop in Walton Street hyping it, the numerous lies about which celebrities had bought Bambi sh8, etc...) before jumping to defend Bambi ! This place offers tonnes of information, please do your homework before claiming Bambi is worth an Art "discussion" !!! Peace & Merry Xmas to you all ;-)

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by dashboll on Dec 24, 2014 10:16:19 GMT 1, Erm.
Memo to Bambi: This kind of stunt only works when selling the artworks at less than their true value. the "spray art" piece in the middle would be the only one I'd buy

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by barryh on Dec 24, 2014 10:53:18 GMT 1, Don't know why people get so heated about art or artists they don't like? If you don't like it get yourself together and jog on. No need to player hate. Bambi might have walked away with a decent days wage yesterday for all we know? And yet, thats wrong in some peoples eyes ?? 5 kids living in a high rise with a pay as you go gas meter.....Good luck to you ..... Who cares if its not original ? After all Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... Try informing Artnet of your thoughts as they have just listed Bambi as one of the most influential women in art Mind you Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian are in there too ................
Imitation has nothing to do with it, this is more 'career by numbers'. The making a days wage would be a good point, if we were not told that celebs are apparently buying this stuff for many Β£1000s.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Quinnster on Dec 26, 2014 9:22:41 GMT 1, On a serious note iv seen some rubbish brought and sold on this forum and people asking for weird things on the wanted thread, but iv never seen a Bambi for sale although someone did ask for one once.
And this is the problem there is no market for this work although the carpet shop make out this junk sells for thousands.
If she just got on with doing her thing on the street or sold some stuff and built a fan base without constantly calling herself the Female Banksy she might not get the abuse she gets.

I thought he was quite positive considering what was asked for....
Are you and the OP working together for the Carpet shop trying to create a demand?
Or is this a Troll post?
Because let's be honest there is no paying market for this work...

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by iamzero on Dec 28, 2014 10:13:49 GMT 1, I know art is completely subjective but the truth is Bambi's work is generally shockingly bad. And on a forum where the standard of work is really high... Even in the Your Own Art section you gotta expect some sort of slating.

God i hope it ends soon!

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by barryh on Dec 28, 2014 10:51:59 GMT 1, commiserations, im sorry to hear your misfortune, ill take the Β£25 one off you and you can send it to nordicstar because it will make her happy i am wondering why every person on this forum seems to dislike Bambi? I, personally, do not actually think her/his work is out of this world but it looks quite good and i have bought some pieces as i have been advised to buy as apparently they "will most likely increase in value over time"
Probably because of lines like 'apparently they will most likely increase in value over time'.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by .dappy on Dec 28, 2014 10:57:38 GMT 1, ... I like the way mr ergo keeps up the mystery of Bambi being 'his/her' - the video itself shows her to be a her ... I am also very surprised mr ergo didn't snap up ALL of the pieces that were for sale for 'just' the Β£25ea if he was such an astute collector with his many pieces ...
