Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by tartarus on Dec 29, 2014 19:46:01 GMT 1, how so? He hasn't built his career on publicity, he's used it, but not soley relied upon it. Banbi is attempting to use media to convince the world her work is worth having. Ie all the stories of star buyers, where as Banksy has had lots of coverage for his efforts, his (actual) star buyers and the general buzz around what he does. Trying to shove your work down peoples throats by using the media, is not the same. And thats without getting too far into the fact that when a collector appears here, that all they can say is "i was advised to invest". Which was in fact a perfect example of how completely lacking in real fan base this "ARTIST" is. So you don't like her publicity and use of media? You do realize Banksy relies very much on publicity and media. And since when does having a fan base make you an 'artist'. Honestly it seems that a lot of 'artists' who have fan bases actually become quite redundant and boring. Did you read what i wrote? I thought i covered it pretty fully there.
A career is something publicity helps and increases, in the way Banksy has.
Bambi is attempting to create the illusion of popularity by buying publicity with pointless stunts. 1, Banksy style street sale, 2 "The female Banksy" (my arse!) 3, use of a Banksy print as a background for her image (awful waste of a flags print). Are these the actions of an artist with credibility gf their own?
Yes, artists go off the boil sometimes, but then we all can, in whatever we do. However Bambi started at redundant and boring and has successfully progressed nowhere!

It's all about perception.
You see Bambi as 'forcing' publicity. Maybe that's part of the art itself? You see her as trying to 'copy' and play off Banksy. Well one can find that as being 'art' itself. Think about it...
Personally the use of a Banksy image is genius. Who's doing that? You want original? Who in their right mind destroys a Banksy and makes it 'less valuable'. Genius.
The way it gets people all hot and flustered. No doubt it's on purpose and once again part if the art.

art is art, bullshit is bullshit.
Describing anything she does as genius is just beyond response.
What makes you think anyone is hot and flustered? People are just stating they see no talent or quality or for that matter point to her art. Is that a failing in your perception?

Who are you to say it's drivel?
I mentioned Banksy and look what happened? I got called stupid. No surprise really as I knew that would happen.
What Bambi is doing is art. If you don't like it then fine. I suspect (or at least hope) you are consistent with your proclamations of 'bad' art. Cause you should be commenting on a lot of artists besides Bambi. Lol

Destroying the flags print is genius. NO, its utter madness and contrived to gain publicity from an actual artist. Is neither art nor genius, its just a PR stunt.

You call it a pr stunt. I call it a genius conceptual stunt. That's art.
Just as banksys original stall was in boti. No?
How do you feel about brainwash? Exit through the gift shop? Boti?
All could be perceived as pr marketing no?

Lol What Bambi is doing is not street or urban "art" in any real sense, we can argue the semantics of what constitutes good and bad art for ever, but realistically, it isn't really worth discussing. This scene is quite well developed now, people on here have been following, studying, analysing and supporting artists related to street and urban art for the better part of 10 years. In that time there have been a thousand Bambi's come and go. It's nothing bad, it's just not interesting or relevant or important enough to justify a thread. To all intents and purposes, Bambi doesn't really exist on this scene. We're not ignorant of her as her PR company pay to place stories in the media and shout "Banksy". But really, have a close look, it really is badly executed, derivative and uninteresting work. No one collects her work, nobody writes about her, she's not included in any shows, she has zero support from the community of street and graffiti artists and never will. I never thought I'd see the day where this would ever have to be discussed, but as the thread is here, I guess we should engage and highlight why she and the work isn't at all relevant. It's all a bit tragic really.

And that's exactly what makes Bambi interesting to me.
The fact that 'the scene' as you put it doesn't 'accept' her. Does that make her not an artist? Or interesting? Does that mean what she's doing isn't a commentary on 'the scene' itself? Who cares if it's 'urban or street art'? Who even gets to say what is 'urban or street art? You? The members on here who have been following it for ten years? Banksy?

To all intents and purposes, Bambi doesn't really exist on this scene. We're not ignorant of her as her PR company pay to place stories in the media and shout "Banksy". But really, have a close look, it really is badly executed, derivative and uninteresting work. No one collects her work, nobody writes about her, she's not included in any shows, she has zero support from the community of street and graffiti artists and never will. I never thought I'd see the day where this would ever have to be discussed. All a bit tragic really. Banksy?
The clues in the title of the forum you are on.
What Bambi is doing is not street or urban "art" in any real sense, we can argue the semantics of what constitutes good and bad art for ever, but realistically, it isn't really worth discussing. Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by tartarus on Dec 29, 2014 21:35:49 GMT 1, so if i say i perceive an apple to be an orange does that mean its an orange? Nope. I believe science has defined that for us. The same can't be said for what is art. So how do you feel about those I mentioned above? Correct. And in the exact same way, PR and advertising are also clearly defined. Yet here you are trying to tell us its art.

No you asked who cares if its urban or street art.
That's the title of this forum and what 95% of us give a shit about.
I'd say that same 95% think Bambi is pretty shit too.

So Banksy is the end all be all of urban and street art? Interesting. Pick another artist Murrke, this is going nowhere, doesn't matter what you "project" onto Bambi, she's certainly not a conceptual artist either. This is a grass roots bottom up movement and has no place for manufactured artists created and promoted by a couple of wealthy owners of a carpet shop. Not sure where you heard about her, The Daily Mail maybe, but certainly nothing to do with what this community represent and support.
peace

Yet here you are trying to tell us its art. Like I said. What about the other things I mentioned? Are you telling me other urban artists don't PR or advertise? Lol This isn't really about other artists. its about Bambi, due to the rare and unusual way she has appeared, i.e. only through the purchasing of advertising space in papers and a PR system that has bullshitted her prices into tens of thousands of pounds.
i give up though, this is just so far round in circles I'm too dizzy to give a fuck.

Yes, she's a bad amateur artist 2. Her work sets out to question or comment on the nature of street and urban art in the same way a Remora fish attaches itself to a Shark, a free ride, protection (you), food. 3. Who cares ? errm, we do. Not really, but you know. Kinda. Sort of. 4. Who gets to say what is urban art ? A chap called Wiz followed by everyone else including those early denizens of the board who now have doctorates on the subject.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Hairbland on Dec 29, 2014 23:02:50 GMT 1, I googled "Bambi Street Artist" and the 3 related topics are Banksy, Paloma Faith and Marmite.
From what I know, Marmite is equally polarizing.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Dec 30, 2014 0:09:44 GMT 1, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, two of the most taste-free organisms on the planet, saw fit to publicly rebut lies fed by Bambi's management to the press that they'd purchased her work.
Is blatant lying (and/or being publicly called out for it) part of the "conceptual genius" of Bambi, Rouen Cathedral?
And what's your view on this deceit, Lenny er, sorry, ergo1?

Probably not the best place to list them for sale.
