I think the Laz ones are the ones to have they generally are around 2k with original Laz letters.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Deleted on Apr 10, 2021 18:06:40 GMT 1, The problem is that the tenners with the Laz letters are being faked in rather large quantities.
The ones from Spain on eBay are all fakes.
Not saying these are fakes but you may need something like the original purchase emails as more provenance.

I have seen first hand bottleneckgallery ones next to a complete cloned bottleneckgallery fake..dow to the same holosticker and adhesive. Without PCO coa you are screwed in the long run and let's face it most bought it to flip in the long run.
The thumbprint can be faked in many many ways...a complete disaster of an investment

We've seen imitation attempts made on the flea bay but when the seller was scrutinised it was clear that they were not genuine and the seller didn't have the relevant or correct provenance (it's been discussed on the forum). So it would be interesting and helpful to learn in what context you have seen what you say.

On a previous post , I mentioned a gallery that I am familiar with that turned them away. The gallery owner and gallery director then showed me both items next to each other, one real and the other one imitation..I could not tell the difference even with bright light being flashed on them, same frames, same seals, same holosticker, mat, glazing, they did not know at that point if the paper used was the same.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by acaipride on Apr 10, 2021 23:33:47 GMT 1, I get the hype though. If I wasn't the analytical type, I would have fallen face flat on this, but I did the research. I think it was on here where I first saw an email image from PCO saying the Laz coa or any coa doesn't mean anything, and after getting ridiculed I typed my own email to PCO and they responded in the exact same way.
Anyways, I think you and I were talking about NFTs at some point..you should look at what NFTs and the blockchain used is going to evolve into, it just takes time, money , celebrities then businesses and then the govt.

I bought one a while back and actually did some research, maybe not enough in your eyes but I have spent some time -also with the help of this forum- to try to be able to differentiate fake from real ones. In the end I came to the conclusion that there are the obvious fakes and then there are the not so obvious fakes where people might use printing plates etc. Not being knowledgeable in printing techniques and the like, I figured my best chance to get a real one was from Laz. Of course a Laz COA is just that, a Laz COA and nobody can say with certainty whether he started printing new ones himself. But as far as I know there is no evidence that he is printing them himself. It’s just an allegation, but of course please correct me if I am wrong. I btw have also not heard of him ever selling identifiable fakes. Finding that also galleries have acquired their Tenners from Laz was another reason for me to buy directly from him. Where would you have bought it from?
(I have not bought it as an investment, I am actually quite fond of art on “money” 🙂 But if I would have bought it as an investment it would have def paid off + there will probably always be people that do less research than I have...)

There has, so far, never been a fake tenner that couldn’t be spotted quite easily.
You claim to have seen perfect fakes. That’s fine, but please show more proof or move on

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by the only texas pete on Apr 12, 2021 21:17:10 GMT 1, I’ve bought a couple of fakes and I now own a couple of real ones without any Laz COA’s. Sure I guess a Laz COA is a nice addition, but having a real one without doesn’t matter surely? There are real Laz COA’s being used with fake notes. Surely Buyer Beware still Should take precedence? Get pics, buy from trusted sources etc
I’ve bought a couple of fakes and I now own a couple of real ones without any Laz COA’s. Sure I guess a Laz COA is a nice addition, but having a real one without doesn’t matter surely? Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by blockhead2020 on Apr 13, 2021 1:04:45 GMT 1, I messaged a few people on this forum, trying to get hold of a real Di-Faced Tenner. I did a deep dive trying to identify and avoid fakes. Thanks to everyone who replied to my DMs.
To be clear, The ones Pint of Cockles is selling appear to be legit based on what I see.
Ive seen a few of the bottleneck versions too. Bottleneck verifies their tenner's authenticity via email. However, it appears like they base their verification process on the QR code, so if the fakes also have the QR code, they will verify it as real. I came to the conclusion that buying second hand bottleneck versions is dangerous as people get bogged down with the hologram, COA and framing rather than the tenner it self.
The fakes lack detail on the print. Make sure you ask for detailed photos before purchasing. As with all art, provenance is important. Receipts from galleries if possible. A lot of people on this forum are genuine too. Have a look at their previous posts, you can filter out the scams.
I know one gallery who is selling fakes. If its significantly cheaper than market price, its probably fake.

Reasonable advice for people who, like me, are new to all this.
