Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by cko88 on May 17, 2021 23:47:44 GMT 1, Hi guys, I’m brand new to this topic but I like to buy a genuine Tenner.. Is there any reason why there are different letters for COA by Steve Lazarides ? Despite the fake ones (with finger print) I know a single line and a letter with two lines, both saying the same thing „I can confirm that this Di-Faced Tenner is from my personal collection and by the artist Banksy.“ I am thinking about the chance to get a fake one which has a single lined COA and of course the hologram sticker and QR on both letter and frame. Any chance to get scammed with this things ?

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by cko88 on May 18, 2021 0:14:11 GMT 1, Thanks, the offer looks good (if you can trust the guy working with Lazarides..) , but I am trying to buy one with a COA (and from BNG). Question is if there are different letters or one is genuine (regarding the length of the text or the amount of lines written)?!

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Lazarus II on May 18, 2021 11:02:41 GMT 1, Thanks, the offer looks good (if you can trust the guy working with Lazarides..) , but I am trying to buy one with a COA (and fromNo Ball Games ). Question is if there are different letters or one is genuine (regarding the length of the text or the amount of lines written)?! you mean from Bottle Neck Gallery as opposed to No Ball Games ?
I bought one from Galart Miami that sold them at the same time as Bottle Neck Gallery . No idea about details of whats on each letter from the different sources, but if tenners can be forged then so to can provenance. If you are looking to be assured that what you are buying is legit then buy from the link i posted earlier.
Edit , B N G when typed with no spaces, autocorrects to No Ball Games in my post and no doubt in cko88’s post😂

The laz letter i got from Gallart was a one liner with the serial number and a hologram sticker on it with the same number. They also sent their own Gallery Art COA which has a few lines with year, serial number and some other blurb plus a picture of the front and back of the tenner.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by ART_STA on May 18, 2021 15:46:23 GMT 1, Hi Forum,
I've just compared my Laz purchased Di-faced Tenner with a PC COA Di-faced Tenner and the colour of the Laz versions is less green and slightly more blue that the PC COA to confirm.
I also took close-up photos and both the print details match though with the small circles as per the above.
Realise there are 6 x pages of discussion on this thread, however is there a conclusion regarding whether Laz supplied tenners are legit or also possibly fake ? As couldn't see this mentioned anywhere.
Thanks all..

Think you can do the math there buddy.
A Laz COA means absolutely nothing.

See the helpful and arguably definitive posts above by hnkpnk, including this one:
urbanartassociation.com/post/2085761/thread
The tenners were offset-printed on sheets prior to being cut — so there could easily be minor variations between them in tone and dot pattern.
What's important is that the individual CMYK dots in cyan, magenta, yellow and black are clearly visible in suitable detail in your close-up photos, and the rosette patterns are the correct size. Diana's eye on the right (her left) is a good place to focus on, since you can use hnkpnk's image for reference.
If your Di-Faced Tenner was purchased directly from Steve Lazarides, my hunch is that the likelihood of it being fake would be close to nil.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by met on May 21, 2021 23:10:44 GMT 1, Hi, I just saw this one and wondering whether to buy it.. what do you think?[...]
From my limited understanding of the situation, here is what I think:
1. You know your taste in art, and what you'd be happy adding to your collection. No one else here does.
2. You know the identity of the seller for the purpose of assessing their trustworthiness (including the likelihood of a bait-and-switch). No one else here does.
3. You know the documentation that will accompany the tenner, and whether that will give you the reassurance you need as a collector. No one else here does.
4. You know the seller's asking price. No one else here does.
5. You know your personal financial circumstances. No one else here does.
6. On the question of authenticity, the previous posts in this thread offer all the guidance anyone should require to make their own judgement call — on an informed basis, without the need for further handholding.
In brief, you are best placed to decide whether or not to buy. Moreover, the decision is yours, and yours alone.
The preferable option is therefore to resist any temptation of trying to outsource that responsibility to other people. Especially when those people are strangers on the internet.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by mmmillbank on May 29, 2021 0:17:58 GMT 1, Oh lumme
I bought this Di-faced tenner that I thought genuine for an Ebay seller mentioned on this thread so I am worried! I compared it with pics kindly provided by Oski (thank you :-)) and it seems convincing, in the absence of a real one. Have I been duped? I only just bought it so have time to return it if need be!

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by met on Jun 18, 2021 4:30:55 GMT 1, jbee — For consolidation reasons, I've copied and pasted your post from the separate thread you just started:
urbanartassociation.com/thread/173039/banksy-difaced-tenner
Hey guys. I got this tenner and wanted to see if anyone could tell if it is legit or not? I took some hi-res scans. Any help would be much appreciated. __________
One of the purposes of this extensive thread, including the very helpful recent posts by hnkpnk, was to give members all the information they needed to make their own informed judgement calls, without the need for hand-holding. Independence > Dependence.
Pages 5 and 6 herein make up the best "how to fish" guide I've seen for verifying the authenticity of Banksy Di-Faced Tenners.
That said, your apparent newbie status must be borne in mind, since it arguably calls for extra patience on my part.
In case you have a magnifying glass to hand, use it to get a detailed view of Diana's eye on the right (her left).
Are the individual CMYK dots (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) clearly visible, as they are in hnkpnk's close-up photo below?
Although the issue could possibly be your scanner, I myself cannot see the CMYK dots in your own photos.
In fact, your tenner looks like the counterfeit that artfan2021 also bought from Dope! Gallery:
These are the best pics I can get of this tenner. Can someone come back again and let me know if they think it's a fake, so I can get back to the gallery if needed? Thanks.
__________
I've actually lost track of the number of counterfeit tenners that Dope! Gallery / Nicolas Alyès / roisaintlouis has sold to members on this forum.
And all were accompanied by a COA, pursuant to which the gallery provided certification — assuring duped Dope! customers in writing that the fakes they paid money for were authentic.
artfan2021 mentioned over a month ago, on 11 May 2021, that they would ask Dope! Gallery for a refund:
Thanks hnkpnk for the close up. Very useful. I will ask DOPE for a refund. And consider buying one from the only legit source!
Circa 11 May 2021 would therefore have been just one of the occasions Dope! Gallery was given a loud and clear heads-up that it was selling counterfeit Banksy Di-Faced Tenners.
jbee — I hope the above effort has been of assistance to you.

jbee — For consolidation reasons, I've copied and pasted your post from the separate thread you just started: urbanartassociation.com/thread/173039/banksy-difaced-tennerHey guys. I got this tenner and wanted to see if anyone could tell if it is legit or not? I took some hi-res scans. Any help would be much appreciated. __________ One of the purposes of this extensive thread, including the very helpful recent posts by hnkpnk, was to give members all the information they needed to make their own informed judgement calls, without the need for hand-holding. Independence > Dependence. Pages 5 and 6 herein make up the best "how to fish" guide I've seen for verifying the authenticity of Ban ksy Di-Faced Tenners. Gallery: These are the best pics I can get of this tenner. Can someone come back again and let me know if they think it's a fake, so I can get back to the gallery if needed? Thanks. __________ I've actually lost track of the number of counterfeit tenners that Dope! Gallery for a refund: Thanks hnkpnk for the close up. Very useful. I will ask DOPE for a refund. And consider buying one from the only legit source! Circa 11 May 2021 would therefore have been just one of the occasions Dope! Gallery was given a loud and clear heads-up that it was selling counterfeit Ban ksy Di-Faced Tenners. jbee — I hope the above effort has been of assistance to you. Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by BANK OF ENGLAND 🏴 on Jun 18, 2021 10:22:08 GMT 1, From my understanding Dope gallery seem to have an unlimited supply of these tenners which is a little concerning and bit of a red flag. Unfortunately their COA's are practically worthless and I would love to know if anyone would be able to cross reference a dope gallery tenner compared to a proven genuine one to see if the rosette pattern matches. Otherwise I get the feeling Dope Gallery may have commissioned someone to produce their own in house high quality replicas.
