Got an email from them which states otherwise so I'm not trying to create bad press. Just going by what I was told. Was told came with a letter from prescription and a "copy of the original" slip from Laz as only one was given "so I can only send out copies."

If folk are getting something different then that's cool.

I wrote to them asking specifically about the coa and got no response whatsoever.

My letter from Laz (original wet ink signature in biro or similar) does not have a thumb print - no hologram, but from Andipa Gallery. Assume this is legit? Cost was 1250 of your good british pounds.

The tenner looks exactly as the above images - slightly thicker stock than a real 10 pound note (like the real one on Shy’s Mrs Banksys (just kidding we know you are not Mrs B Shy!)

Corroborating avec art's view, this is indeed a counterfeit.


The rosette patterns lack the subtlety and detail of a genuine Banksy Di-Faced Tenner.

Moreover, the rosettes in the fake are far too small:

By way of illustration, look at the sclera of the eye in your second image, to the immediate left of the iris. Now measure its maximum height in rosettes, from the upper lid to the lower lid. In your fake, the distance is around seven rosettes. With an authentic tenner, that same distance is covered by about four rosettes.

jrausis — To better ensure that other forum members are not duped by the same seller (who is either a fraudster or was unknowingly trying to sell you a counterfeit), please could you identify that person, e.g. by their:

- real name;
- gallery name;
- username on the relevant platform (whether that's eBay or elsewhere);

As others have said, try to get one with Laz cert, otherwise you will always be wondering. Also remember that if you ever need to sell down the line, you are another link in the story of authenticity.

It so happens that I bought a Tenner from them yesterday, I'll ask for a refund right now.

There are a lot of fake tenners out there. Looking at your posts it seems you are trying to snap up a few Banksy pieces. Take care and due your research, it’s easy to get scammed. If you are after tenners then buying through a reputable forum member is likely to be a safer bet than an online gallery. Probably get a better price too.
