Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Deleted on Jun 27, 2014 16:48:33 GMT 1, There are once or two peices that really grab me- and not what I expected - someone else to look out for...
mostly the usual suspects though innit- the Pax Britannia could be interesting and a bit of a baromter of wot them bansky is worth to the mainstream folio collector

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Nick on Jan 7, 2015 17:30:59 GMT 1, The fact that most of them are number 3 of the editions and all acquired direct from artist, obviously this is a former employee shifting his collection or Laz emptying the archives

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by lee3 on Jan 7, 2015 17:47:15 GMT 1, They're just photos of the work in Bethlehem. Atypical for the artist as those are the only ones that I know of that are not screens of stencil work but rather work in situ. The reserve on those has come in quite a bit from the summer at Sotheby's where (from memory) they were asking upwards of 20k each. Obviously down to 4k now and your guess is as good as mine as to where the hammer falls.

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Oski on Jan 7, 2015 18:04:18 GMT 1, The fact that most of them are number 3 of the editions and all acquired direct from artist, obviously this is a former employee shifting his collection or Laz emptying the archives Per the auction catalog with the foreword from Steve Lazarides: "I have decided to open up my personal vault and let go some of my collection."

Interesting fact. Why selling all the Banksy at the moment? Feeling the bubble will burst?

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Winter on Jan 7, 2015 18:17:22 GMT 1, A Charming Baker original that looks well priced. Isn't his next show due this Spring/Summer? The Harland Miller is a bit weird and I would struggle to explain an M16 signed by Kate Moss to my wife. The Banksy Watchtowers look pricey.

Why selling all the Banksy at the moment? Feeling the bubble will burst? puzzled by that as well. I wouldn't read to much into this... any seller that needs the money (to run a business or pay for school fees) would try to take advantage of a robust market, that is valid for Lazarides as much as for any of us... doesn't mean prices can't go any higher later (or down by the way !) ;-) Good luck all

They likely gave him a break on fees due to sheer size and quality of works. Fees are always negotiable for quantity and quality of works.
