They were practically giving the failes away. I think only 2 of the Failes sold. Burning Bright and Falling for Faile. Both for Β£1000... pretty good for the buyer, but not outstanding... crap for the seller though!
Seller's Commissions (~15%) = Β£150
Loss/Damage Warranty Fee (1.5%) = Β£15
So the seller of the Faile for Β£1,000 nets Β£835, not including any cost of transporting the piece to the auction house.
For the ones that did not sell, the seller still has to pay:
Unsold Charge = depends, but is nominal for the cost of photographing, cataloging, marketing
Loss/Damage Warranty Fee (1.5% of average high/low est.)
So the unsold has the salt in the wound of transport costs, unsold charge, and warranty fee.

No interest in owning art specifically labelled as being for someone else. Even if it was my own name, it still wouldn't feel quite right. |

They do consistently give very low estimates; either because they're out of touch with the market or they think it increases the competition for the work. I think it's the latter.

I would put money on all of them going for vastly more, especially the Nola and probably the VLH will go for a good price as there hasn't been one at auction for a while.
