Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Winter on Jun 17, 2015 22:49:19 GMT 1, Was that the GWB with duplicate numbering? Noticed there was an amendment to the size, does that mean it was trimmed?

It 'appeared' that 4cm might be missing ? But I'm not sure.

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Black Apple Art on Jun 17, 2015 23:04:31 GMT 1, Has GWRB always been worth more than Kate? Excluding pricing I would personally love to walk past GWB everyday in my house, rather than Kate - GWB has a timeless appeal, but that's only my opinion. I think it is very hard to compare their assent in price with the Kate originally selling at Β£2500 with 50 available (of the original version) compared to Β£150 / 150 of the signed GWB. Being his best known iconic piece it is not surprising where is has gone and will continue to go. Would be curious to see an original GWB go at auction now.

Not much love for WSM they have never gone much over Β£3k, maybe the overseas Banksy buyers don't get it.
I would love one....

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by lobster on Jun 18, 2015 10:59:27 GMT 1, Have to say I would be gutted if I sent any signed Banksy's to this auction.
Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing and the previous auction the prices were very strong but what would the consignee really get back on these ?? Maybe Β£32K for the signed Girl With Balloon / Β£13k (!!) for the mint Rat and less than Β£4K for a signed Weston Super Mare ??
They surely could have achieved more on ebay or here ??
Or has the bubble actually burst Interesting times.

Suppose all things are relative, if the seller had paid Β£150 for it back in the day then he / she has had more than a nice return but if he / she paid Β£30k for it then not so but still made a few quid.

In fact, as far as I know, the GWRB is a new record for this image at auction, so just the opposite of a bursting bubble. 4K for WSM is a bit low, but that image has never been very sought after at auction.
It has been mentioned before, but I don't think Bonhams brings in the best prices for a seller. If I were selling it would be Christies or Sothebys, or private sale.

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by naughtyshorty on Jun 19, 2015 8:57:16 GMT 1, As I say the GWRB was an AP so that's going to effect the price....
As far as I can tell, and only going from the description, there was nothing special about the print in terms of it being an ap. The only difference was banksy signed it a p d n, it was 4cm shorter, and was part of the run of 150 signed.
For me at least that would make it as normal (and possibly slightly less desirable cos of the resizing) as a standard signed gwb

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by chester on Jun 19, 2015 10:55:36 GMT 1, The Balloon girl is a record at auction by some way. If you look at Bonhams prices over the last few years they have consistently achieved stronger results than Christies and Sothebys and had the best crop. The WSM made 5,000.

www.bonhams.com/auctions/22275/lot/90/
Not bad considering I paid less than half that for the whole set.

Private sale is your best bet unless you have a very unique piece. Even then, it is a toss up. Damaged prints seem to do well at a certain auction house.
