Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Harveyn on May 13, 2008 13:46:49 GMT 1, Great. Can't wait.
The wife is working tonight so its plonk the 3 year old in front of the TV (One night can't do any harm..... ;D) and then its a night of hanging three new pieces that arrived today (and a sh*t load of re-arranging) with the auction results as a running commentary for my pleasure. I presume there will be audio on this?
Beats the hell out of watching Leeds get dumped 2-1 last night.!!!!
Great. Can't wait.

Sorry Harveyn but as a Manchester United oops sorry Champions fan, nothing beats watching Leeds get beat 2-1, especially by Carlise

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by lee3 on May 13, 2008 15:58:37 GMT 1, Bonhams thinks that laugh now will hit almost a million. I dont see how, its quite small, but what do I know. Stand out of the auction is the "pick of the litter" Faile box. Appears like the auction starts at 1pm
$1 million? Wow, I find that hard to believe but it is a stunning piece. I'm incredibly underwhelmed by this auciton especially compared with the wonderful evening and morning sales Christie's and Sotheby's have put together this week. They have got an unbelievable concentraion of quality work for sale. This sale is lackluster at best imho, though I will be interested to see what happens with the Mel Ramos Green Lantern painting. I've got a good friend (who owns a Ramos) who took a pass on that painting many yeas ago at $25k.
>>>I'm also very interested in how much the Francis Bacon triptych goes for in the Sothebys auction,<<<<
Now we're talking. The whisper is $75 million with more than a couple suggesting it could see 9 digits. If that Richard Prince nurse painting hits $8 million than just shoot me now though I would love to have his Shot salesman for significantly less in the same sale. It will be interesting to see if that Clyfford Still smashes right through $20 million like his last one. I can't wait for this evening!

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by jam on May 13, 2008 18:42:15 GMT 1, ...It will be interesting to see if that Clyfford Still smashes right through $20 million like his last one. I can't wait for this evening!
The Still piece will be one to watch. I know an abstract collector that owns quite a few Motherwells that is after the Still today, with a cap of $15 million. He said he thinks odds are against him... I agree. I am looking for this one to do over 30 Million.
