This particular artist has become a lightening rod for criticism, and I can certainly understand why. Using other people's work without permission, association with a certain gallery that has fallen out of favour with some, the frequency of releases, the repetitive nature of the work, and the fact that for any given piece, after tracing someone else's work in illustrator, his only real contribution is the "tagging". I use that in quotations, because he is not a tagger. He has no handstyle; it's just colourful garbage.

MW clearly has the effect to polarise views, hence vitriol is met with passion. All the reasons you describe as negatives can equally apply to many other artists that are promoted on this board.
