Sandra Chevrier โข The Cage Prints, by nicobot on Feb 26, 2015 16:59:04 GMT 1, do they exist? a quick google check throws up Nike bots. Anyone who uses these bots are just arseholes really. I would guess you would write your own. Something to keep clicking refresh then add to cart each time would not be that hard to write if you knew what you were doing It's a script that runs as a google extension. I've seen them before shoe websites. Most amateur code writers could handle it. Some stores like Nike introduced a 'captcha' system to help battle the bots.

Sandra Chevrier โข The Cage Prints, by kel on Feb 26, 2015 17:14:19 GMT 1, Amazes me how quick a following Sandra has achieved over a relatively short period of time. Remember her coming to my attention if not a lot more members in April 2013 when Jean-Pascal was starting the COA Gallery.
urbanartassociation.com/thread/105265/online-gallery-coagallery-featuring-chevrier
There where a lot of forum members at the time who were picking up originals at what can be only considered now as an absolute steal. I remember at the time they did look great but something just didn't sit right with me. Even feel the same now and think it might be all the super heroes connection. Don't get me wrong the quality of the prints look great and Sandra certainly is a talent.
I am just wondering how long before people start to think wow look another image of a woman with a cartoon on her face. Collectors are now starting to criticize Martin Whatson for using the same style how long before Sandra starts to suffer the same fate.

Sandra Chevrier โข The Cage Prints, by Fะฏ on Feb 26, 2015 17:24:30 GMT 1, thing is she is already evolving a little, the show for levine looks interesting. Not so much collage and more hand drawn.
The tears print is progression as it uses no collage at all. People keep pushing for progression but as you say, 2013 is nothing! Some people still churn out the same shit and are called amazing (kaws, dface, walker etc)
Happy she is doing so well to be honest and she is represented by good people.

Glad I did pick up some back then before things went out of hand (yeah, my f5 hand lol). Until she comes up with something quite different, doubt I need another chevrier print hanging on the walls at this stage. For all I said, wouldn't mind trading my prints up + some $$ for an OG or hand finished though.

No luck there, but I managed to grab a copy of The Cage Who Gave Her Life For Humanity, also hand finished. Great print also, but I must admit that I like Dark heart better. If you are of the opposite opinion and want to swap like for like, give me a shout.

One did say he picked up one yesterday and one today though, and he is a huge member in their community and I can show you his ebay page, a huge flipper (no matter how much they pretend they aren't). He picked a black and a reg so I admit my jealousy but I will remain very happy with my regular! Will be interesting to see what he asks

That's just another option, but a bot sounds better.

Sandra Chevrier โข The Cage Prints, by Amber Halo on Feb 27, 2015 3:53:32 GMT 1, I have a feeling Chevrier could go Lichtenstein wise price wise. Record auction price before too long. The big prints are great. I wish Sandra the best; she's a wonderful talent. But I think the true top end of the art market is (sadly) still heavily biased toward male painters -- so the rarified air Roy got into, well, I think there's only one female painter that ever got there (O'Keeffe). And you still see that bias with living artists, too. Cady Nolan is the top female artist at auction (I beleive) and, while doing wonderfully, isn't anywhere near what the top living male painters command. Sad, but still true.

I don't think it makes much difference these days if an artist is male or female.

While you may accept female artists to be as equally talented as males, pricing and praise proves otherwise. Just look at any contemporary sale at any auction house.
