Sandra Chevrier โข The Cage Prints, by sake on Mar 3, 2015 17:48:15 GMT 1, I'm just wondering because of the few people I know are getting 16 prints. There is alot of people in norway that I dont know :-) and if we did get that many prints out of the total I'm just curious as to why:
1. we got lucky 2. norwegian broadband connections are better? 3. its a small bubble that we live in and we just assume that everyone is after the print, but in reality its not so 4. she's very popular in norway and thus alot of norwegians try to get her prints.
Which is why I was wondering the statistics, did 20 prints go to norway or did 50% go to norway..
I would use the data to answer my own questions and evaluate her popularity and decide if I wanted to invest more in her, keep my current portfolio or sell. I do love her work and have her hanging proudly as the centerpiece in my livingroom, but I'm a man of reason and need to calculate economics into my decicions.
Thats why ;-)

My tip for you must be to keep the pure economic investment to the stockmarket where if you put half the effort from your Chevrier analysis in reading up you can probably actually make money. And buy the art you like because you like it, not because some analyst from goldman sachs said "it's a really good investment." Trust me, they've said that before....

He's not entirely wrong. Even for an image I like, I have to make some economic decisions if it costs a lot of money. Fact is there is so much nice works in this world, you can't just buy every one of these. When you have to pick the ones to buy, it's inevitable financial rewards has to be taken into account to make a good decision.

You (and many of you who disagree) must be very wealthy with no financial burdens and have everything you wish in life. Also, time to take away the buy/sell section on this forum. Once you buy an art, prepare never to sell it, ever. Not even take back cost or even a fraction of it. Cause they are all worthless the moment it reaches you by this theory, anyway. And sell what you have and grow tired of in future for pennies just in the name of passion for the arts and share with other like-minded collectors the beauty of art. Forget the art market by all means.
Let's not kid ourselves. We are mere mortals...

Out of duty, longshanks, I feel the need to say sorry for my initial reaction when I saw this. Though I said nothing, in my head I quickly dismissed your post with a weary sigh. That wouldn't constitute a thought crime against you, but it was arguably a thought slight or a mild thought insult.
However, my assessment was knee-jerk โ evidence of a failure to fully think everything through. I'm pretty embarrassed.
The meme you posted is actually far more astute than it appeared to me at first glance. It successfully epitomises (albeit in a caricatural manner) what seems to be a not insignificant segment of Chevrier's target market and the mentality of that particular audience.
Very clever. I offer both my personal apologies and compliments.

I had to pay DHL a bit more on the doorstep for import duties as they told me they had to pay customs. All was soon forgotten once I took out the print, a real beauty. It really shows off what screen printing can achieve. Many thanks to all involved, especially the artist.
