Eelus • Where They'll Never Find Us, by gatecrasher on Jul 4, 2015 23:42:57 GMT 1, A/Ps and P/Ps aren't usually numbered. I have had a couple of AP's and PP's by various artists and they have all been numbered. Me too .. mine aren't though.
Maybe artists have moved on from PPs being actual proofs for the printer and APs being gifted to friends and family, in which case they didn't need to be numbered as they weren't of an edition or have any future value.
Are APs now just a little extra income that an artist can make on top of an edition release ? Who knows what PPs are :S

Not sure, one of my AP's is the Red IFTL edition of 8 which is very much different from the normal edition but the others look pretty much like normal edition. I also had a black nick walker empire state TMA which was a PP and Im sure that was numbered but cant be certain, fantastic version.

Eelus • Where They'll Never Find Us, by 11 on Jul 5, 2015 0:42:47 GMT 1, AP's were traditionally (and still are with some artists) different from the main edition with it being colours, paper or size and not necessarily for friends and family but were regarded as special, more desirable than the main edition.
True Printers Proofs would be 'working prints' of a slightly different colour or not as many colours and would be marked with printers references and typically would only be 2 or 3 produced. Traditionally both the artist and printer would sign them and maybe keep one each.
When there is no difference between an AP, PP and the main edition then they are just 'over-runs' and marked with these 'special terms' purely for commercial gain (IMO)
Very few artists seem to declare the entire edition up-front - Hush and Guy Denning spring to mind as being very transparent in this area but even with Mr B we are constantly surprised to see a different edition of a 10yr old print that nobody knew existed.
Everybody says wow then - although most of his special editions do differ from the main so i'll give him that ;D

Eelus • Where They'll Never Find Us, by klyde on Jul 5, 2015 11:44:00 GMT 1, Bought from homebase. My local one has a habitat section. You can also buy online. £30. Yes the print touches the glass, but to be honest I have never had an issue with this. It's not above a heat source or in direct Sunlight so will certainly do for now. I'll probably get it framed with a decent mount etc to go with others in the room at some point.

Eelus • Where They'll Never Find Us, by bilbo on Jul 5, 2015 12:19:52 GMT 1, Both AP's and PP's are pretty much 10% of the 225 regular edition, which to me is a normal run. Hey Ruggs. I'm not comparing it with other releases by Eelus. Maybe it's different in the urban scene, or maybe I'm out of date, but I always thought that it's usual for there to be only very few PP's, sometimes only 1. Isn't having 20-25 missing the point of what a PP is? Not intending to be critical of this particular artist. I was merely suprised that there would be this amount of PP's for any print. Unless, of course, there were a lot of printers involved!
If I remember rightly with ATR Eelus had a lot of trouble with printing it due to the number of colours in the print and the release was delayed by a good few months. So maybe the number of PPs or APs might be larger than normally expected because of it?

Unless, of course, there were a lot of printers involved! Not disagreeing with you coach. It's seems normal to do a run of 20-25 AP's based on the total of the regular edition. Maybe Eelus and AR were being intentionally over generous on the number of PP's they made available. Remember the production of the print would have taken some months to produce, so they probably ended up printing a fair amount along the way in order to get it as perfect as possible and decided to mark those as PP's. Either way at least they made a few more available for us.

Firstly, just want to say well done to Art Republic and Eelus for using a very large, strong, bomb proof tube and great inner packaging. Print is incredible. Colours are amazing on thick paper stock. Another one for MFM to sort.

I am so sorry... it is a wonderful idea to keep your COA on the back of your artwork. I hope you have lots of Banksy prints with the COA's hidden safely on the back of the frame. Then you could share your address publicly in the forum and tell us all where you hide your spare keys. That might be a tad worse. Best of luck to you!
