BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by 11 on Aug 23, 2015 1:47:03 GMT 1, That's brilliant. The staff training sessions must have been hilarious to see.
Someone did say today they had a couple of weeks drama training to help them maintain character
perhaps we should have a thread dedicated to the dismal customer service - quotes & examples of such. I think it would turn into quite a funny read as more and more share their stories

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by coller on Aug 23, 2015 3:48:52 GMT 1, You are all the perfect cannon fodder for dismaland grabbing what you can, deseparate to be part of the gang, almost entirely unable to look past your own base needs, I could cry if it wasn't so reassuringly obvious and entirely f**king dismal in a grand scale That's one way to look at getting souvenirs from someplace special as a keepsake. Lord, I thought I was negative.

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by laurentbaboo on Aug 23, 2015 3:51:47 GMT 1, Here is a pic of the James Joyce screenprint (edition of 150 @ £150) and how Dismaland will display their prints for sale. This was about 1.30pm when they just quickly stuck it on a window in the gift shop (you can see the Somerset watermark). Reckon they will drop a few at a time over the next few days as they only had about 10-15 in a box when I got mine and that was straight away. (sorry it is not rotated!) Whoever has used this photo on the following ebay listing, could you please REMOVE it. If you are just flipping the print, I do not care, but as you are selling a stolen duck from the show I take exception. Really winds me up when people steal something that is there for other people to enjoy and then try to profit from it. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/James-Joyce-Dismaland-Signed-Limited-Print-Banksy-Show-And-Rare-Banksy-Duck-POW-/231662528926?hash=item35f029a99e
I just hate it, trying everything to get some time off work to go there next week, and seeing people just going there to grab anything to make profit without appréciating anything!

Hi Dan I can honestly say that I thought the show was fabulous. I had such a good time wandering round and seeing all the strange and wonderful things. It was also great to meet up with people I've met before, and meet people I've talked to here for a long time but haven't met. It was a day I shall remember for a long time.

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by ABC on Aug 23, 2015 8:16:12 GMT 1, My wife and I poanned to queue up in the morning but arrived in WSM at 8pm. We notice there was a few people at the ticket office so we popped over and got in. There were literally 10 people behind us before they closed the booth around 8:20pm. I would highly recommend going of a late evening as it was very quite and hardly any queue to get in. Really enjoyed the show and picked up a James Joyce print on the way out, just a shame the other artists didn't have anything available to buy. Really super evening.
That's good to know, I'm heading down Tuesday eve around the same time so hopefully will avoid standing in queue for hours.

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Pistol on Aug 23, 2015 8:50:10 GMT 1, Can't believe photos of unseen stuff are still popping up, will be going next week. Although I did find the ticket fiasco annoying on the first day, I am really looking forward to seeing this in the flesh! I was painting at the above boards event in Kidderminster yesterday and spoke to a few that went on Thursday/Friday and most said they will be going back. Think you have smashed it Banksy!

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Deleted on Aug 23, 2015 9:21:40 GMT 1, Not that I care much what critics say but the review of dismaland in the guardian today was very negative which surprised me somewhat
Jones can write an article which means nothing.
He steered away from mentioning Disney in the article.
So Even Jones plays the team Banksy PR game.
Jones did not write anything about the 50 plus artists exhibiting and their work which is odd for an art critic who visited the show.
He tends to play the game when promoting some so called high brow "important" artists who are actually very crap and promoted only because of who they are.
Maybe he looks at Banksy as art for chavs?
Sort of witty one liners with simple images that simple people can understand rather than pretentious scribbles and other dumbing down promotion by the likes of Rothko and other pseudo analytic meanigful art.
There again I do enjoy reading the comments posted under all of these articles about art.
www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/jonathanjonesblog/2015/aug/21/in-dismaland-banksy-has-created-something-truly-depressing "Mark Orbell 20h ago
Banksy is nothing more than a icon, a concept thought up and put into to practise at Art School. Has no one watched the DVD that actually explains how you can create an imaginary. Artist and get the art world to buy into the concept in order serve vested interests. Let's go to auction and buy my own art in order to inflate its market value or even better I'll get my own agent to buy my work. These people should be working in Wall Street not Art world . What's even more disturbing for the past 20 years they have plundered public purse and take Art Council Grants when they can afford to fund the project there selves."
Reality is people go to see the show and if they feel they got their money's Worth thats all that matters.

What training?? They all signed up to be staring in a great movie with a lot of famous actors. This would be their big breakthrough...... Money, succes, famous friends etc etc
They ended up with handing out pamflats to us lot and fetching beers for jack black......

Go down and get yourself a new set of pencils. Still makes me chuckle :-D
