Upcoming Faile release, by FЯ on Oct 20, 2015 20:45:02 GMT 1, What's the chance of not paying any import duty? Zero, fedex always send you a bill for faile prints. Its normally 2-3 weeks after it arrives. They sort the tax out as its in the air so when it lands it does not get held up.
they get the codes right as well, so its normally 5% plus an admin fee of £10
last time the fee was more than the tax.

Upcoming Faile release, by rockhopper on Oct 20, 2015 21:21:28 GMT 1, Bagged one of these just after 5pm. Well pleased, my first faile and my first art purchase for over 18 months! I tried to find a paste up of this earlier this year. I was only offered 1, and the seller wanted more than what this cost today. RH

Upcoming Faile release, by Hairbland on Oct 20, 2015 22:25:51 GMT 1, A good idea by FAILE, an inexpensive entry point for potential new fans (the pitch in their email) that will only take them a bit more into the mainstream. It is a poster, like the JR NYC Ballet Poster (I think $70, on heavy stock and printed at his place...I did get him to sign it) or the KAWS Poster created for his Philly Museum show about 2 years ago (about $100, but I don't think signed, didn't get), but it's a really cool signed poster of an iconic image.
I don't see it affecting the prices of other FAILE items in a negative way.

Upcoming Faile release, by Street Art Fan on Oct 20, 2015 22:54:28 GMT 1, I agree with almost everything you said besides this. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking. I'm not sure it would lower prices of editioned older pieces. Look at Geddes, you can get Hypostatis for quite cheap now, but the Red Cosmonaut stays significantly more rare, more pricey. The old Faile pieces, especially with the dog are absolute icons and not an easy find. This release is for everyone to have some Faile on the wall. Guess they both have their public And for disclosure I own no Faile pieces at all Agreed. It's like the average Picasso or Matisse or Van Gogh fan who can't afford an original work or limited edition print, so they buy a repo from the Moma gift shop because h/she is in love with the image. The ubiquity of all those reproductions on the open market has no effect whatsoever on primary or secondary prices.

Upcoming Faile release, by BKBOI on Oct 21, 2015 4:57:37 GMT 1, I agree with almost everything you said besides this. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking. This what I'm getting at , Most people that want the dog image , won't got out and go for the small edition , when they can have the almost the same piece for a fraction of the cost and save a great deal amount of cash 2 different price points and 2 different types of collectors. The Fairey POWer and Imperial Glory silkscreens did not lose any value even though the 24 x 36 lithographs of the same image were released as an open edition. The Dog Bite is one of the grail pieces for Faile collectors. As much as it is nice to own this poster, I would still want to own a handfinished version of it.

Its only a touch over 50x70cm...the extra width might be a little issue as it falls outside of standard frames.

The 60x80 Habitat Bacall frame (in either black or white) could be an easy option, as you don't even need to worry about cutting a mount - www.habitat.co.uk/bacall-60-x-80cm-24-x-32-white-picture-frame-46101
As you say FR, the slight extra width will be noticeable, but I reckon this might work still.
Otherwise any other standard 60x80 or 70x100 frame, with an appropriate mount.
Maybe MFM can offer a forum deal for an off the peg option? Seems there may be a fair few of us looking to get this framed up at a reasonable cost.
