You realize he's moved from "urban artist" to actual real artist recognized by museums and art collectors, of which very few from the "urban art" genre will follow.

Presenting the Past was $3500 and a year later they're selling from $5000-6000.
I'm really not going to be surprised at this point if this print is in the $5000-6000 range at release, which will leave very little left over if you're solely going to try and flip.
In my opinion I think this piece is much more desirable than last years print and his abstract work gets a lot more appreciation then say his Kawsbob pieces from the past. Probably a sound investment, but not an immediate profit grabber depending on price.

Just think about the possibility that it might lose value and you are now forced to keep a print that is not up to your tastes. buy only when there is a chance thst it will get framed and make the wall.

Pace is great, upper echelon of the upper echelon, but in a world with Gagosian, Zwirner, Hauser & Wirth, they are not THE gallery in the United States.
I'd also say Universal Limited Art Editions(ULAE) is definitely more highly regard as a printer. I mean, ULAE had a retrospective at MoMA in 2007.

Yep, might get close to 1K over what it will actually sell for tomorrow. Doubting anyone will get double of retail for quite sometime. Honestly kind of hope its around 5K to just leave no room for people trying to flip it next day. |
