Nice little profit for a mornings work. Wouldn't be surprised if people were camping out for this to flip it tomorrow. Ones on Ebay could be 2 guys sitting in line right now just waiting to make a few thousand. |

New KAWS Screenprint
Available to order at noon today
Beginning today at 12pm New York time, the gallery will begin to accept orders for KAWS' new screenprint, You Should Know I Know.
Orders will only be accepted in person at our 521 West 26th Street gallery or via email to kaws@paceprints.com. Emails or walk-ins before 12 noon will not be accepted.
If ordering by email, please include: your name, your billing address, and the best phone number at which to reach you. Gallery staff will confirm orders by telephone in the order in which they are received.
The gallery will be closed to the public until 12pm today.
No phone calls please.

Remember when one of my mate was working in the Netherlands in the 90s selling none existent champagne. Used to ring people up and just make a price up. Will be similar with this release. Lets say the price starts at ยฃ5K just ring everyone up and tell them it is 6,7 or 8K and that they are selling out fast. Some will bite the bullet and buy one just because they feel lucky to have had the phone call.

If that is the way the have always conducted sales, they should explain why they are releasing this print like it was being released by 99 prints or Print Them All. They are over hyping this release when it doesn't need to be. |

They cant ask for different prices at the same time and spot. This is not reliable for artist and gallery. The prices can be cheaper on an event or an artfair, when the work is released...

Kaws fan base is originally from the Street Art Scene and the new money paying crazy prices for his works are not necesarily in the same level. The world of Contemporary Art is a very scary thing to navigate particularly for little people like me. His original fan base will surely inquire about it and plenty will find themselves priced out. |

I just think it's poor form for an institution like Pace to follow the hype based marketing tactics. |

Three ebay listings so far---one for 10k, one for 7.25k.
I would imagine most of the buyers are flipping...so if they actually flipped theoretically at 7k---people wouldn't buy if it was sold at Pace for around that.
