Have a couple pieces from the Ups and Downs set and they look phenomenal in person. This is a must have for me. My plan is i'm bringing a friend and trying to pick up two. Flip one and cover the cost of the print. probably end up with 0 prints and no sleep.

Will be tough to call it depending on price. Thinking $4k minimum. Pace is great, upper echelon of the upper echelon, but in a world with Gagosian, Zwirner, Hauser & Wirth, they are not THE gallery in the United States. I'd also say Universal Limited Art Editions(ULAE) is definitely more highly regard as a printer. I mean, ULAE had a retrospective at MoMA in 2007.

I'm just going to walk over to the gallery a few hours before they open and see what happens. There is an exhibit I want to see there anyway and they open at 10 AM so if anything I'll get something out of it. |

I view him in the same way as someone like Bathing Ape, who has mastered the art of marketing and generating hype to sell things at an inflated premium. And now that he's got the backing of the mystery key keepers who can judge whether his work is 'fine art', he basically has a licence to print money. Good luck to him, but I struggle to find the appeal in backing this
There's no mystery key keepers. His trajectory has been steady. His mark has been made.

I believe there were technical issues on the online portion of the kawsone release for PTP. I remember reading they would show up as sold out and then come back online a few minutes later.
