Just to put in in perspective, you can either have a print by stik for £3k or buy an inside out teddy bear which is currently bid up to £3k on ebay. 

True dat. However if thats absurd then the teddy bear is nonsensical.

Ive been to houses where they collect beanie babies. 
Never pick one up, its the equivalent of touching a print with nutella fingers.

It's a funny world. People are paying £3000 to own a print created by a previously homeless artist, that was originally sold to raise money for a hospital department's rehabilitation service that assists the elderly and individuals with TBIs and dementia.

At no point, does something within them say that they could do something better and more worthwhile with that 3K instead?

I don't want the Stik prints to calm down a bit... I wanna trade mine for a Nola by next week.

Secondary values seem all over the place, last week one sold for £2450, then a couple of days one sold at £3100, and now one has just sold at £2200 - Wonder how many of the "sales" were real or just a bit of market manipulation. Either way, figures of in excess of £3000 seem unrealistic, fingers crossed we see the prices coming down yet further.

Yes that one sold for less but got a feeling once the ones go on the bay for whatever price they will be like lovers hard to find .., could be wrong ?

This forum does itself no favors sometimes - hyping an artist who is nowhere near that level.


And yes I've got a stik, and yes I like his simple style - it has a place.

But come on.

For that sort of level I would probably let my silver go to be honest - it's a lot of money!

From my perspective silver is the one to have - it matches a lot more and is much easier to place in the home.

Mine is booked in with a framer to go into a 40mm white box frame with black slips and a single black 1" mount around the outside. Full conservation job with uv acrylic due to the placing of it above my bed.

The print itself is stunning real nice big size and quality finish . It's really tempting to sell at these prices but it would be hard to let go . I'm framing mine up just like at the hospital floated In black because I think it worked well. I like to see the cuts on edge and I feel the black picks out the detail nice. The silver colour is new to Stik and this must go down as one of his best images if not the best . There's always an added story and meaning with Stik but I like this one most; the vulnerability of himself as a homeless person dependant upon the nhs which is taken for granted put into 6 or however many lines on paper and Into print . And as said , one can resonate with the sleeping baby .

It will look great once it comes back, we don't particularly need the money so it's worth keeping I think really. My wife saw the prices and thought she could buy a shiny or whatever women spend money on.

Perhapse we can stretch it to 25 pages?
