What's really frightening is the growing number of people who are OK with censorship of speech deemed hateful. Hateful ideas should lose on their merit, not via censorship!

1. Bad ideas should be easily overcome with logic and reason
2. Driving bad ideas underground hides and exacerbates their spread

Our pre-frontal lobes are too small and our adrenaline glands are too large, yes it's true. The problem is that intelligence is not dealt or distributed equally. I argue that it's not limited to our pre-frontal lobe but indeed our entire brain. However, like the businessman/Shepard to which he refers we are left to interpret everything inadequately armed to do so. My mind has pondered the thought or question that our minds are far too small and inadequate to even conceptualize what really happens after we die. So while we are living, how can we justify defending one religion over another to be the final word? However, the hatred ensues as senseless as it may be. The true and common thread in most religions is that of LOVE and not HATE and that my friends isn't too hard to conceptualize or understand if people could just get past the idea of always having to be right about their version of the final word. Not sure where that came from. I’ve been staying out of arguments recently as it’s abundantly clear that people are entrenched in their views. In fact, I’ve not really felt much motivated to post much at all recently. If you think he’s doing a good job, that’s fine.

On reflection, now you have pointed it out, you are probably right about the title of the thread. My original post was in relation to a particular comment or decision by Trump, that clearly shocked me at the time. I did not at the time anticipate that this would become the main thread for discussing Trump. I’m happy to change the title if you wish.
