Donald Trump, by Amber Halo on Jan 10, 2018 5:35:37 GMT 1, Blame Coach for starting it, Not exactly a nice thread to begin .with On reflection, now you have pointed it out, you are probably right about the title of the thread. My original post was in relation to a particular comment or decision by Trump, that clearly shocked me at the time. I did not at the time anticipate that this would become the main thread for discussing Trump. I’m happy to change the title if you wish.
I preferred your original title, Coach. Hope you are well and don’t stop contributing.

Yep, that's Trump for you - brings out the very best, usually in his own supporters.

Donald Trump, by moron on Jan 10, 2018 17:07:21 GMT 1, Nothing wrong with the original thread title. It would be nice to get some input into exactly why Trump is a prat.
What has Trump done that is prattish and what prattish things will he do in the future?
How does Trumps prattishness compare with the alternatives?

Still Oprah who certainly looks like she knows to play the game, regarding the photos of her with Harvey Weinstein will make a great president. I wonder how she managed to get so much air time on US tv?

Still Oprah who certainly looks like she knows to play the game, regarding the photos of her with Harvey Weinstein will make a great president. I wonder how she managed to get so much air time on US tv? That's mostly due to the fact that leftwing opinions are in general based more on feelings than on facts. It's hard to quantify or objectify feelings or back them up with data. Without evidence or data you can't really debate, you can only resort to calling everyone that doesn't agree with you a racistbiggottranshomophobenazi. Because feelings.

Virtue signalling and fearmongering creating division and calling people victims who are not victimised in any way by society.
and the reason left wing politicians do this is because it keeps them in gravy for decades. They become millionaires whilst promoting left wing rhetoric whilst exploiting the poor, hiding their millions offshore, investing in tax deductable assets; living in big houses amongst their own kind as they certainly don't want to live amongst the poor, buying and driving big expensve cars and ignoring the victims of crime and racism unless it helps raise their profile to get more votes.
They make a speech and a photo op now and then but in reality none of them are worth voting for.

Then again, there are idiots on the right as well. It just seems to me that idiots on the right are more of a fringe thingy like the KKK/white nationalist morons, while on the left it's way more accepted and widespread to hold extreme views like Antifa and Black Lives Matter and feminism.

Trickle down economics and capitalism has risen like 50% of the world's inhabitants from utter shitty poverty to being middle class. Don't forget that even most of the 'poor people' of the western world live better then kings used to a few hundred years ago.

Donald Trump, by Pysgod on Jan 11, 2018 0:03:37 GMT 1, THEY SAY HE IS CRAZY The only evidence of Trump mental illness is why, at first analysis, would a billionaire who could live the rest of his life in the utmost luxury, in relative privacy, would choose to put himself in the fire of the world of corrupt media, corrupt politicians, corrupt corporations, insane lefty extremists, death threats, fake news, fake allegations, the constant danger of assassination and the insane criminals that are the Clintons.
For most people this would appear at first blush to be madness.
However Trump undoubtably not only believes in his quest to make his country great again, has a clear vision of how he intends to achieve it, has the backbone to insulate himself from the intense hate of the corrupt and the unintelligent.
It seems to me that these are traits of a very well balanced individual and exactly the sort of person who the decent and intelligent people of America would want to be holding the power and position of president.
Given a fair wind, trump will prove to be one of the greatest presidents of all time.

Trump is partly a childish trollish prickish dude that can't control his urge to cause shitstorms on twitter, and at the same time a brilliant businessman learning to be a politician. If he keeps DACA (with the exemption of people that committed crimes), builds a strong method of border security (yes, part wall), gets rid of that insane Obamacare which is so anti American it even hurts me as a European, thinks in a sane way about gun control etc he can truly be one of the best presidents in recent history.
Just take away his phone, please. Or don't because it's so damn entertaining.

For a second ignore the reports coming direct from the White House, that he repeats himself every 10 minutes and when a senior staff member tried to explain the constitution to him couldn’t get past the the 4th amendment as his attention was so poor, let’s forget all of that. Which has come direct from the White House, direct, forget that.
Let’s go to his tweeting and the proven fact he directly reflects the last story on Fox News - directly reflects it - that may not be crazy but it’s certainly concerning.

Donald Trump, by Deleted on Jan 11, 2018 0:25:46 GMT 1, THEY SAY HE IS CRAZY The only evidence of Trump mental illness is why, at first analysis, would a billionaire who could live the rest of his life in the utmost luxury, in relative privacy, would choose to put himself in the fire of the world of corrupt media, corrupt politicians, corrupt corporations, insane lefty extremists, death threats, fake news, fake allegations, the constant danger of assassination and the insane criminals that are the Clintons. You are talking about 'anonymous sources' from a book that's written by a guy that's been known to take the truth with a large bag of salt.
His tweeting is crazy tho

Donald Trump, by nex on Jan 11, 2018 0:29:21 GMT 1, I highlighted them for you.
They’re not facts. You’re also alluding to industrialisation not trickle down economics.

multiple sources, verified, names obviously not published to protect them. Plenty prior to this book. Plenty of names also mentioned including rupert murdoch....

Donald Trump, by Pysgod on Jan 11, 2018 0:37:20 GMT 1, So, let me see if I have this right now..... Trump is a mentally ill, semi-illiterate prat who built a multi-billion dollar empire that spread across the world, was able to beat 17 of the best and brightest Republican candidates, turns around to beat the "most qualified woman of our time" for the presidency, then in his first year in office causes the stock market to climb to heights never seen before in history, lowered unemployment, almost wiped out ISIS, restoring law and order, all while working with a hostile Congress and the media attacking him 24/7
I would love to see what the man could accomplish if he was sane and literate...

...it's how I imagine a conversation between Trump, Bannon and Duke might have gone...

It’s fascinating actually, how this occurred and what the US is left with.
Firstly it’s worth scrutinising his business dealings, he’s a lot less successful than he claims to be, his behaviour in relation to bankruptcy could be said to be immoral to. Buts let’s sweep that all aside for now.
The evidence I’ve read would suggest he’s mentally in decline which is understandable given his aversion to exercise, his diet and you know his age. But the other side of this coin is how did he get elected ? Republican Party in decline? The Russian influence? Hilary clearly being the establishment? The electorate wanting someone different who appealed to their basest urges?
All these things. I would suggest he didn’t want to be president but saw it as great pr.
