And in the meantime Trump sits in his Parisian hotel room insulting his own country's firefighters, whilst refusing to attend a memorial service to remember those who fought and died in WW1, for fear of getting wet. What an embarrassment of a man. ... speaks volumes of the character of the man ... BBC News - Armistice Day: Growing criticism of Trump WW1 no-show www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-46168995 Disgraceful.... the very person that will send your sons & daughters to war couldn't care less.

Donald Trump, by touchdowntodd on Nov 11, 2018 14:30:40 GMT 1, Hard to get "over" someone whom you could argue is partially responsible for death of the American family in the blue collar and below sector.. several of his moves combined with the 70s and 80s loss of industry in America may have done more damage to low income Americans lives than anything else in history Mind u.. I supported him in the initial election times, overlooking an incredible amount of poor behavior in regards to women What a load of BS - and that’s a professional opinion. Clinton’s presidency was arguably the best one in terms of economic policies since Kennedy/Johnson. Clinton era average economic growth: 3.9% (much better than Reagan btw), and the third best since the end of WWII (only Johnson and Kennedy had better growth). And let’s not even talk about the numbers for deficit (he left a surplus to Bush!), employment, labour market participation and entrepreneurship. (Was it perfect? No: it continued, in less extreme form, the Reagan/Bush deregulation trend - but you guys love that). Please please please stop blatant lies - it’s really embarrassing for you and annoying to others. If you want to understand (but I doubt it) what has happened to manufacturing in America, just google: “comparative advantage.” Read and think a bit for a change. The only reason you guys cannot get over Clinton is that you have no valid arguments in what is directly observable to people and in measurable facts, so u need to go and try to rewrite a fantasy history (birth certificate anybody?): lies and misinformation is all you’ve got.
There in lies the issue.. I'm not discussing the economy at all
Sometimes people on top of a food chain think it's all about money... I'm talking much deeper issues

But from your million dollar homes, and well into the 6 figure salaries, you will never see it .. you'll just think that's "how the poor act"....

F the economy, I'm talking about the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act to name just one of the gems that the man himself has even apologized for being a part of....

You are talking fantasy. That’s all you’ve got. As one more reality check below (but I’m not sure you care about reality at all).

Crime rates have been falling steadily since the 1990s, with the sharpest contraction exactly during the Clinton years:
Again, you only say BS - and that’s a professional opinion. Stop embarrassing yourself with easily falsifiable lies, that’s ridiculous.

So ...
Previous administration's kill the labor jobs, especially high paying ones
Education costs go up at 3x the rate of inflation (I'll not blame that on any president, that's another discussion)
And punishment for crimes etc is blatantly turned to over punish blue collar crimes....
So you can't get a job, you can't get an education, and you think that won't make more poor turn to crime? And then you create unjust sentencing, unjust appeals processes, etc???
If you think those actions aren't sill problem in America, look at the decline in marriages, and upswing in children being had by the poor as a result of wanting a family even if without the male role.. ... These are all small factors that when combined, ruin a nation.. ruin a populations morality, and have created the world we live in today
And again, don't assume people you're talking with aren't educated in what were discussing... That's insulting. Stop saying "that's an educated opinion" "that's a professional opinion".. so you were first a professional on the economy, and now on the history of the American family and the impacts of crime, punishment, education, and opportunity?
Wow, Im well educated, but I'll never assume to be a professional in 2 or 3 entirely different areas.
You're clearly just frustrated because you didn't understand my initial point, which could be my mistake in my initial post. But, drop the economy speak and let's look at the true long lasting impact of the administration. Economy bumps up and down constantly .... This issue is still impacting every family I grew up with and know..

Have you considered that crime rates are going down because people are getting 20 years for a minor crime?
No, because you don't know the lower class issues

no you're just the type of individual that just doesn't understand the argument he's having I'm still talking about the lower level income .. bring me some pretty charts of yours that show poverty level crime rates and rate/percentage of incarceration and you will see what's really going on ...
one quick statistic you might not like is the prison populations across the United States are up 50% since the Clinton years simply look at the art incarcerated level of approximately 300 million people around 94-95 and right now we're sitting between 450 and 500 million people incarcerated..
I apologize to everyone including yourself regarding my typing at this point because I'm using voice text as I drive to an event. and well this is a spirit at argument I do appreciate your point of you regardless of you if you do not appreciate mine at the end of the day if we don't speak about this and look at all sides nothing could ever be fixed

The last lie that I debunk and then I’m done with you, really.
The graph below tells the story by itself, but here is a summary. Scholars largely agree that the turning point for the US incarceration rate trend (the slope in the graph below) were the “law and order” president Ronald Reagan reforms (and particularly the sentencing reform act and the drug abuse reform acts - ie the misguided war on drugs); the trend continued during the Bush father years and the first ever reduction in trend (albeit it still stays strong), clearly visible in the graph is, again, recorded in the Clinton years; and finally your berated Obama (I guess because of colour) is the first ever to break the trend - with a series of reforms that have just been almost completely undone by the Trump DOJ, hence incarceration rates are expected to pick up again thanks to your beloved Trump.
Again, you say just BS at odd with any measurable fact.
And I’m tired of schooling you, since you will deflect again with another falsehood.
👋 👋

Not really (google “three strikes law”) but even in your graph you can see the new trend is coming from the Reagan policy changes. So I guess you don’t even understand what you post....

Neither do I. The first president ever to really act on that with appropriate policies was Obama. But Clinton was definitively better than who had caused the problem: Reagan.
Largely (theoretically at least) it’s an easily fixable issue: end the misguided war on drug; eliminate all the “three-strikes” state laws; reduce poverty rates. But don’t expect any republicans to do that.

Donald Trump, by Deleted on Nov 11, 2018 16:35:34 GMT 1, So ... Previous administration's kill the labor jobs, especially high paying ones Education costs go up at 3x the rate of inflation (I'll not blame that on any president, that's another discussion) And punishment for crimes etc is blatantly turned to over punish blue collar crimes.... So you can't get a job, you can't get an education, and you think that won't make more poor turn to crime? And then you create unjust sentencing, unjust appeals processes, etc??? If you think those actions aren't sill problem in America, look at the decline in marriages, and upswing in children being had by the poor as a result of wanting a family even if without the male role.. ... These are all small factors that when combined, ruin a nation.. ruin a populations morality, and have created the world we live in today And again, don't assume people you're talking with aren't educated in what were discussing... Are you seriously suggesting that "the decline in marriages...ruin a population's morality"? Really?
Don't you think that Donald Trump's abusive rhetoric about Mexicans, the media, anybody who is involved in the Robert Mueller enquiry about election meddling etc. is far more likely to be the cause of a lowering of morality rather than people not getting married?

You don't think children need both parents?
You haven't seen the crime/education/employment rates for children with single parents?
You don't think it's harder for a single person to get further than a 2 income family? Therefore not allowing those singles to live the old American lifestyle of buying a house, saving, etc
Feels like a lot of foreigners that don't fully understand life in America commenting.. and I can't blame you. But statistics and the regular media aren't telling you the day to day life....

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 11, 2018 17:17:37 GMT 1, I saw a statistic recently that I can’t for the life of me find again. Only one of the recent mass shooters had a adult male role model in their lives. I’m not sure what research you’ve seen but childhood development plays a huge role in criminology.
It’s asinine to say that the declining morality can be attributed to Trump, up until these past two years morality was at its peak? Ok.

I’m saying morality was on a decline way before Trump. So attributing that to him is ridiculous. If you interperate hatred, fear, and hostility from his speech that’s on you. Plenty of others see hope and opportunity. I could easily argue he promotes morality, I believe it’s immoral to illegally enter a county when others are in the process of going about it the right way. He has said those who request asylum at ports of entry will have their cases heard. If they have a genuine case where they aren’t just coming to take advantage of our country and they aren’t a threat they’ll have their chance. He’s only arresting those who break the law and jump the border, how is upholding the law immoral?

Only one may have had a male role model but every single one of them had access to and used guns. Only one common denominator.

And then it isn’t guns, it’s knives. Then when knives are banned it’s acid. Sound familiar? Where there is a will there is a way. Franklin said “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” That’s exactly where we’re headed giving up our rights over fears. If Hitler did not have the right to freedom of speech, he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to rise to power. Should we do away with that too?

That's a mute point. If the las Vegas 'shooter' had a knife, would he have been able to kill 50 people and injure nearly 1000 people ?.
Yes we have knife attacks and the odd acid attack ... but there isn't a weekly acid massacre !.
There needs to be some kind of licence for guns, I can't drive a car unless I've taken a test... why is it not the same?
As for the Hitler reference....

The most recent shooting in California was commited by a mentally ill veteran who owned his weapon legally via a permit. The police had interacted with him many times previously and had the ability to confiscate his weapons if he were deemed to be a risk to himself or others. The laws were on the books to prevent what happened but those responsible failed to act. More laws to ‘prevent’ things like this won’t help when current laws designed to do such aren’t preventing it either.
