I think he makes some very valid reasons as to why Trump, regardless of the polls( we all know the accuracy of polling of late....) stands a bigger chance than I think most give credit for...

It surprises me that you say that. I have always enjoyed Michael Moore's films and found them quite compelling. What makes you say that his credibility is so poor?

I was genuinely interested in your view of Moore, as I have felt an affinity with your opinions in the past. Thank you for the eloquent explaination. I totally get your point.

This is all I'll say here. But if years ago someone told me in 2016 that one of the two parties would choose a candidate that is an outsider populist who eschewed money in politics and wanted to break the system. While the other party picked a mainstream "safe" candidate that was pushed on them by the elites in the party. I would have bet $10,000 it would have been democrats to pick the outsider. Boy would I have been wrong.

Yes, I know Trump has said and done some very ugly and despicable things. He sometimes acts like a childish asshole. But for every negative in Trump there are negatives in Hillary. Dirty backroom dealings, pay to play, two-faced, act above the law, hawkish. She's the polar opposite of Sanders. However, on the surface she knows how to smile and work a camera etc. so they tell us she's the better choice. But to me she's a dangerous politician you can't trust that embodies the worst of politics and will continue the status quo. 

Now I'm not a "Trump supporter" per se (I agree with less than half of his policy positions) but I am saying he is one of the most punk rock, f##k the establishment candidates ever to be on the ballot. And I prefer someone - warts and all - that NOBODY in the establishment wants.

But ideally I'd prefer to have no president.

Maybe in 4 years maybe we'll have a better choice?

Not quite. It was easy to get caught up in the caricatures about Trump, so many on the left missed this - and it was much more evident in the primaries - but he has blasted dark money (untraceable donations by ultra-rich donors) in politics and blasted Super PACs - at one point he requested a superpac that was helping him to shut down - this back when his nomination was far from secured! Meanwhile Hillary didn't utter a peep about that stuff in the primaries - Bernie of course did. She did give it some lip service after being nominated - to appease Bernie voters I suppose. Ironic considering she was taking billions from huge donors at the same time. On the other hand Trump took no money from big donors in the primaries and has gotten and spent a fraction of what Hillary has now. None of this is what you'd expect from a super rich guy who you say "represents the establishment." But sure I know what you mean though, his exploitation of the tax system doesn't make me happy - he does get a lot of s##t for it - but he didn't write the tax code - politicians (many democrats too) financed by ultra rich donors wrote it. He's also blasted globalism and trade deals and talked about tariffs - something that would negatively impact his business. He's proposed taxes on the rich and wall st. Now - sure, it might very well be all trickery and bullcrap. But he is (or at least was in the primaries) as populist as you could get on the right. And I find a it to be a more interesting case there than voting for a status quo candidate who has accepted billions from Wall St.

But yeah sure obviously he has said and done some "deplorable" things but Hillary is just as deplorable in ways that aren't as obvious but I find even more despicable. Disgusting misogynistic talk/behavior versus giving favors to huge donors and taking billions from Wall St. - to me that is more dangerous - just not as offensive - at least not on the surface. This is the reason she isn't trouncing him in the polls ... like you might have expected her too.

And fascism, really? That's nonsense and fear mongering. Many people on the right feared a "fascist" obama - total nonsense. Just like the fascist claims against Trump. You think he's going to declare himself king and get the army to do his bidding. It's absurd. At worst you could call him a populist/nationalist. Further, aside from the disgusting fire bombing of a black church practically all of the violence that has taken place this election cycle has been done by liberals or provoked by them. Don't think once conservative protestors went and assaulted people at DNC rallies but  very many times  left wing protestors harassed and assaulted people trying to attend GOP rallies. That is intimidation of the worst kind and it is exactly the same kind of thing that fascists used to do. 

I'm not a conservative but in the beginning I found Trump intriguing. Since then he has proven himself to yes be a prat and has walked back some of the things that mad him compelling.  But I have also long had a problem with the nature of our political system and nominating Hillary for me was the last straw between me and the DNC. I've always voted Democrat and occasionally third party but my growing disdain for the DNC and the people who voted for her has allowed me to remove myself from caring one iota about either side. And I have for the first time ever been able to clearly see both sides and how the actions and words of those on the left have been just as despicable as that on the right.  Now OK, I may get some slight satisfaction if Trump wins - in the  the f##k you establishment and their lackeys kind of way. But really I have zero passion for either side. I give not one f##k about either political party here. No one is going to be a real winner here. But the sad thing is some voters will think they've won tomorrow and will rejoice and taunt the other side. It's been turned into a big game for most people.

God help us all if either wins. Oh wait

With income inequality increasing lots of people feel betrayed by the system. Why thay think they will be saved by a billionaire who is proud of not paying the taxes, I don't know.
