NOTHING as destructive for the US as Trump's potential election is good for the UK.

1. From an economic sense, we are currently your #1 trading partner.  Imagine that relationship sunk and how it would impact your economy?  The US represents almost 15% of UK exports.  Almost $70billion.  ANY disruption in that is going to be a nightmare for you and yours.

2. Trump has stated that he may not follow NATO protocols.  Now, imagine a WWII wherein Joseph Kennedy's writing the UK off for dead actually holds.  Where he wins out and there is no continued US economic/material support, let alone troop support.  Where the US Ambassador writing to Hitler saying, "We cool, I hear Deal is lovely this time of year."  Go ahead, imagine.  The US didn't 'save the UK's ass', as much as we Yanks love to gloat, but did play a huge role in helping it save its own.

3. Obama wanted stability, which any sane leader on the world level wants.  Stability can be predicted and navigated.  An imperfect stability trumps(pun intended) all other options on the table.  Chaos kills both economy and people.  Trump has, again, stated his preference for the later.  His policies and presentations are highly erratic, ranging from $10trillion of taxs cuts(impossible), to killing existing trade deal(enjoy the trade war), to ingraining nationalism and isolationism in the American economy, to whipping back-and-forth amongst 50 different options, none support by economists.  That is straight-out threat to you of unbelievable proportions.  

But, hell, he makes funny 30-second bites, right?

According to you. We shall see. Remember, we haven't left yet. No one yet knows what trade arrangements (etc) will be negotiated. The torys can't even agree on what we should be asking for. Davies had to retract his assertions as to what deals should be done, stating that they were just personal opinion (and he's in the cabinet!!).

1. The future of world trade is not in the US, plus Obama has already made it pretty clear with the "back of the queue" comment that the UK should focus its trade elsewhere, such as the fast growing Asian countries.

2. I think if the shit hits the fan in a World War, then I think the UK at the moment has more friends than the US, even to the extent that with Trump as President, the UK would be safer to not be seen as a close friend. America seems to be a target for terrorist groups from all over the world, and the media seem to encourage that feeling for future generations. Just last night on TV here were two films back to back about the US President trying to be killed by terrorists.

3. Mmm I dunno, most of the richest and most powerful countries have got there through centuries of War.

trump has been campaigning around the country spewing conspiracy theories and lies NONSTOP (while receiving BILLIONS of dollars in free media coverage).  he's admitted to sexual assaulting women and women are now coming forward to confirm it.  now he's claiming it is all conspiracy theories, lies, and media bias?  you can't argue with stupid.  FFS.

no one is asking for a conviction to make a decision on whether trump did or did not.. we have trump admitting to it on tape. there are women admitting to it, witnesses who saw him walk into pageant dressing rooms, teesn admit he told them he would date them in a few years, etc. even his response to the accusers is to insult their attractiveness and say they aren't hot enough for him (even going so far as saying he wasn't "impressed" with Hillary).... a candidate for president of the US.

the fact that this is the dialogue surrounding ANYONE running for president is absurd, disgusting, embarrassing, and pathetic. way to set the bar high.... a bunch of uneducated racist white americans. even worse is the republican leadership who sits by and condones it (granted it has been a major part of its platform for decades... just not so vocal).

So this conversation began with you claiming to not be much of a Trump supporter.  You then followed that comment up by writing a wall of text with absurd comments like, and I'm paraphrasing, most people know someone who has bragged about groping a women (they don't) and/or comments like this are common chatter amongst men (they aren't).  Then you doubled down by continuing to go on this little charade of pretending not to be a Trump sycophant by eluding all logical responses to your original poorly phrased comments.  You've done nothing but spin and evade the truth on this topic yet you're accusing someone else of being a "spin doctor"?  Irony at its finest...

If you are referring to me as a strong Trump supporter I will once again say that I am not. If you go back and look at my post from Sept. 17th. you will see that I was insulted by his actions. In yesterday's initial post I was not trying to justify any sexual assault, I even admitted in my post "I'm not saying it's right but I think most of us have made the same mistake." Maybe people haven't and maybe people have and maybe I was wrong to have said "most people" for which I apologize. I concluded my post with the statement " They're all liars and it makes me ashamed to have any association with this whole political process. I'm most likely going with the independents." Now, in reference to "They're all liars" it meant both Hillary and Trump. I'm not trying to justify Trump in any way. My point of engagement was just that "I don't think Trump is burning as bad as it's being portrayed by the media." That is all I was trying to say. It's funny to me how some people read into things and only see what they want to see. Take whatever I have said however you want. I am moving on from this thread.
