Sad to see that these will be gone shygetshigh83 - if you can take any photos it would be very interesting to see how it develops!

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by Feral Things on Mar 17, 2016 9:01:14 GMT 1, Many of the artists who helped Blu to remove his street pieces around Bologna last weekend have been charged by the police.
An event including concerts, readings, food, a raffle, book and prints has been organised for this evening (17 March) in Bologna to raise money for the artists' legal fees. It's taking place at XM24 via Aristotle Fioravanti 24 and things kick off at 6pm.
I'm sure there's plenty of people on here who can't make it to Bologna tonight but would like to contribute so I'll post up details about how you can do this when I find out.

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by Deleted on Mar 17, 2016 11:38:35 GMT 1, From the article above,
""On March 18th an exhibition called Street Art: Banksy & Co. – L’Arte allo Stato Urbano will open in Bologna, Italy. It is promoted by Genus Bononiae, a cultural output of Fondazione Carisbo, ie the most important bank foundation in town.
Some of the exhibited works of art come directly off the streets of Bologna. They have been removed from walls with the stated purpose of «salvaging them from demolition and preserving them from the injuries of time», which means turning them into museum pieces.
The patron of this project is Fabio Roversi Monaco, a former member of the Zamboni – De Rolandis masonic lodge and former Rector of the Università di Bologna from 1985 to 2000, as well as former president of Bologna Fiere and Fondazione Carisbo. Currently Roversi Monaco is the president of Banca Imi, president of the Accademia di Belle Arti and president of Genus Bononiae."" www.wumingfoundation.com/giap/?p=24357#english
The arrogance of these people doesn't surprise me. It's always the case that the rich dealers galleries etc who make money from artists look down on the artists that make the actual artwork.
I figured there would be a comeback against Blu as even though he did the art, they would say it doesn't belong to him anymore.
Just as Dali proved he had the right to destroy his own artwork, as in the New York window display.
Blu has the same right morally.
This story needs to go global and picked up by the big media.
The police should be working for the people not the elitists that turn art into commodities.

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by Deleted on Mar 18, 2016 15:08:48 GMT 1, The exhibition is very weird. How many of these bankers would tolerate the same graffiti on their own property. Also exhibiting graf doesn't work. People can see it on the streets. urinate on it, tag it, fotograph it.
Going to an organised snobby exhibition is like looking at stuffed animals in a musem.

I have very mixed feelings about the removal of Blu's street pieces.
It is depressing, as well as one of the most incredible and exciting series of interventions I've ever heard about. This takes what happened to his murals in Kreuzberg, Berlin to a whole new level.
If anyone comes across updates over the next few weeks or months, including on the status of the artists who were charged, I'd be keen to hear them.

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by Lroy on Mar 22, 2016 21:23:12 GMT 1, Blu is a real street artist! Maybe The Real (and only) Street Artist. I'm very sad because this is happening in my city, and I will never see again these beauties.. I am really agree with you !
Blu Has balls.
As some artists - unknowns or wellknowns -, as Van Gogh per example, who destroyed some piece of arts for the love of art and the hate of money. Who said madness ? Artists, real ones, are all singular, strange and weird persons, border lines if you want a modern term, and we love them for that.
I don't want to criticised some great street-artists, but if they were right with street-art, art in the street, they should destroy thier walls before to see it in auctions for KKKKK , as some poor and rare animals captured, taken to traps , soared, and shown to other like animals caged.
Blu is great and very courageous ! One of the best ! I did not know him enough before but I will come to join him.
And to those mocking him, mocking poors, mocking me, you, him and others- we call it cynism, out of fashion since the 80' - , and talking about charity,d onaitons, a cigar or a roll fag from their cosy house, I say... Blu has balls. Not you. Stop the deals of prints for KKKKK. Be true and real. As Blu. And I am sure that his tears mixed to paint used to erased his artworks. Courage mate !

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by stillborncrisps on Mar 23, 2016 11:18:58 GMT 1, I'm surprised this hasn't got more attention, although I think they might struggle this week now.
I think this is an amazing statement, and if more artists did this it would much more clearly define the 'rules' of street pieces to the wider world, from the big bankers to the teenagers taking an Invader for his bedroom.
Sad to say this is the most exciting thing that's happened in street art in a long while.
I wonder if Banksy himself might help support the arrested artists, like he did for those Russians that painted a cock on that bridge.

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by sakyamuni on Mar 31, 2016 10:40:27 GMT 1, I like this sentence : "L’association à but non lucratif Italian Graffiti, qui possède aujourd’hui ces murs, pourrait donc les revendre, mais cela n’a jamais été le but".

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by Deleted on Mar 31, 2016 10:42:17 GMT 1, It usually comes down to money not the actual art. Blu painted on walls that are being demolished in some cases, old factories etc. So they want to preserve the wall with the art on it

Blu - Erasing all the murals he painted in Bologna , by Deleted on Apr 2, 2016 1:50:16 GMT 1, Its a good read Peter.
Blu is making a valid point and the one about the hoi poloi wanting to save his art while at the same time prosecuting other artists who make similar art on the streets.
Plus the Bologna mayor being wary too and saying beware of Greeks bearing gifts.
No mention of Freemasonry in your article
