Difficult to say really, is this a new trend of artists going back to some of their more commercial previous work and cashing in?? Feels like it!!

It's like a variant of the original print but I am sure this will affect the desirability and price of the original in the short run. This treatment gives the image a pop and works better than a 2D one imo.

Lol....personally I have liked this image for a long time and eventually bought it last year. If the price takes a tumble I will be fairly p+ssed about that but ultimately I have the image I wanted on my wall alongside my ATR and I can enjoy them each day (and do not intend to sell them). Will have to wait and see how similar it is, whether the 3D element works and what impact it has on the original. Knowing me I will probably buy this as well anyway as I wasn't intending to buy BSMD but did.

I'm not sure about re-releasing new versions of old images, but Eelus has had to put up with five years of idiots pestering him to make/sell them versions of Neisbaw (I'm one of them), so I can't entirely blame him for eventually buckling. Shame about artrepublic's involvement, but you can't have it all.

I reckon it could follow the same model as AR have used for the Magnus Gjoen Lenticulars (which are very nice btw).. Edition of 50 or 60 around ยฃ1500 framed

I thought Eelus had lost his way a couple of years ago but then he got back on track producing some top quality work. Going back really isn't a good move by any artist.
But to be fair if I was in the same shoes I would be flogging the arse out of it and cashing right in.
