So he's just fucked that AAR market too. Given the prices, are these on aluminium?

'The work marks the first in a new series of exclusive lenticular releases' so presumably yes, followed by WTWNFU.

I also has a Nick Smith packed flat to weapons grade. I think Art Republic have made efforts to rectify their packaging issues. Not judging by there packing attempts on the recent John Doe prints, absolutely pitiful as is the norm from them!

Thats a good point, im sure ive read somewhere that the 3D aspect of the image fades after a period of time, that would leave you with a rather expensive Giclee. I may be talking crap tho Anyone on here know more about the technique....? Ill have to do soem reading i think

Eelus 3D Lenticular "Not Everything Is So Black & White", by pokodogo on Mar 21, 2016 14:52:44 GMT 1, oh my days
Go away for a couple of days all excited about my arrival of BSMD from Kens Competition and then this is about to drop!
Ive got to be in, how can anyone knock 'E' for this it is is most wanted print why not, I think 950 is a bargain to be fair.
If the price of the 1st run does drop (i imagine it could after this), id happily purchase one of those aswell....
I dont think it would be right to release WTNFU & ATR in the same style but this been the most sort after is a must release ... and then onwards with some new stuff.
I hope i can add that hopefully the £950 will put off a few flippers as this wouldnt be as easy to flip as the prints that are priced much cheaper.

If they're releasing this one, and are going to release other ones, an ATR lencticular doesn't sound too far-fetched.
Edit: Looks like Sturban Has Saggy Tits beat me to this top-level observation. Sorry!

Eelus 3D Lenticular "Not Everything Is So Black & White", by Dexter Bulldog on Mar 21, 2016 17:26:11 GMT 1, seriously fuk this guy. what a clown. yes i own the original and paid up for it, but i didnt realize it was his schtik at the time to just keep making the same image available. i had a taste of his methods once atr came out and the ensuing pp nonsense that this guy wasnt loaded with integrity. and then when that terrible WTNFU came out it was just more of the same. originally ATR was touted the "companion" and then WTNFU was billed as if it was always a "trilogy". in 5 years will it be two old people on their deathbed with rainbow streaks coming out of their chests to complete the "quad"
i still love the original but just make a new good print instead of keep releasing the same image. poor poor taste and obviously only trying to pump as much money out of the cow as possible.

I am interested if his real fans will buy this? I have no doubt it will sell out, mainly fuelled by flippers but £1k is a lot to spend on this kind of technique. Do any other artists use it?? (excuse my lack of knowledge!!) I would want to see it in the flesh first

Eelus 3D Lenticular "Not Everything Is So Black & White", by thewral on Mar 21, 2016 17:49:29 GMT 1, It's of course your perogative whether to respond, but you may note that there has been a separate discussion on this release in another thread.
Can you provide the artist's thinking behind releasing another run(s) of the image? There are some forum members/Eelus fans that are upset and it may help in terms of understanding the intent.
Also, there are several artists we're all familiar with that re-use the same image in different formats (e.g., Faile).
Personally I am neutral - undecided whether I'll try and go for this but mostly interested in the rationale.

The lenticular technique has been used to benefit the image. Meaning that I think it is something more than just a cynical opportunity to reproduce the original edition. As far as pricing goes ... phew that's a lot, but the demand is sure to be high, and at the end of the day no one is forcing anyone to make a purchase.

The whole premise of this business is that the editions are limited.
Sure it's a slightly different format, but it's the same image and he essentially just doubled the existing edition.

Eelus 3D Lenticular "Not Everything Is So Black & White", by Howard Johnson on Mar 21, 2016 19:32:23 GMT 1, I'll add my quick 2 cents. Generally, I really appreciate when an artist releases an image in a variety of mediums. Specially, I really love how Shepard Fairey does his releases: you have the print on paper for the masses, wood/aluminum/HPM releases for those with a bit more money, and finally the original canvas piece for the big spenders.
In my opinion this gives fans a broad selection of ways in which to enjoy the image at all different price points. That being said, when you buy a Shep you know that the image will inevitably produced in these mediums and that factors into your buying decision. I think a re-release much later is in somewhat bad form, but from the looks of it we can expect his images to be released as a print and lenticular in the future so.
