MBW New print Basquiat, by Lroy on Apr 17, 2016 20:11:17 GMT 1, I would guess Mr Brainwash sells most of his art in America, don't you think? That's the impression I always get. It feels a bit like he has been taken on well by news media there, and has become a household name maybe in the same way Banksy is in the UK, and Dolk in Norway, Blek in France.
Blek does not sell a lot in France., Even Invader does not sell so much in France. Street-art is English and has his public there, or in US. It would be great sortinrs ( as Stik that I like but with a thread per day !! ) that people here should stops talking about Mr Brainwash who has no talent at all apart fame and buzz ( for old collectors fans of Banksy at the first time )., Anyway I don't care, just saying.

MBW New print Basquiat, by Deleted on Apr 17, 2016 21:58:28 GMT 1, I have a feeling Mr Brainwash will one day regret his art world venturing and realise that everything comes at a price.
Maybe he will move into fashion and clothing and create a Brainwash clothing line?
I read somewhere that Faireys assistants made some of Brainwashes art?
Also that fairey was going to sue Brainwash at one stage.

MBW New print Basquiat, by Lroy on Apr 18, 2016 0:14:57 GMT 1, Street art is a global thing Roy. Most of the higher priced Obey prints I have sold ended up with French collectors. yes I know, but we need to recognize that street-art is still in a " closed " world : even in the queue to enter at Dismaland, some did not know about Banksy, his artworks and what he did ir does. It was for them an entertainer and Dismsland a funny amusement park as a ghost town and or train .... Just to say that streetart is not so well-known, of course we have French collectors, but for the large majority they don't know about it or authors, sometimes they just think that it is graffiti on a wall ...

MBW New print Basquiat, by Lroy on Apr 18, 2016 0:19:15 GMT 1, and to note Thierry Guetta (MBW) is from France yes, it was funny that. Why ? Because the French snob and hipster way ? He was selling clothes in LA is not it ? Invader cousin ? I never believe in that ( why not Invader 's gran MA ? ), it was just for the fun you know, and if it's true, I don't know why it is important ... Guys and mates..

I agree about street art and it being very regional too and a closed world. It does look like a group or a clique who work together and share each others assistants etc. Auction house sales like the one recently in Paris, Brainwash and Faireydid not sell so well. Someone could have been pumping up the price of the Banksy record sleeves?
Now all the street artists dress like hipsters.
