Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by corblimeylimey on Dec 3, 2007 17:58:34 GMT 1, I for one think that making the prints available in store is a great move on POW's part. Whoever goes there will be putting in quite an effort and should be rewarded. Worse case scenario, flippers will have to get a hotel room, taxi and pay for some food so hey, they're supporting the local economy. We should all be thankful that this is going to be online so that we'll have a shot at some of the prints rather than waiting overnight in the cold London weather. Best of luck to all who are going.
hear hear.

O.K. so the number is low, but it's the trolley image which has already been printed 1400 times some 900 of which are signed and out of all that are printed these 28 are on the worst paper. If I had lots of money I wouldn't be spending it solely on the exclusivity of these.

Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by morrissey1 on Dec 3, 2007 18:08:51 GMT 1, God, something new from Banksy (on paper) shouldn't be toooo much to ask....Reward the people who are going to make the journey to the Ghetto this year with something that's not just rare because it's covered in gold ink, but because it's an image that hasn't already been plastered around for 14 months or more......I wouldn't sneeze at either the Gold Flags or the cheap paper Trolleys, but I would be slightly disappointed to get all the way there and find those two prints, at those prices, as my reward

If you're wealthy enough to go, you'd be wealthy enough to bid for an original, any guesses on the value of Banksy's Dove? something very special IMO, having said I'm not a great fan of giclee's and litho's I'd love a copy of the Dove.

i didn't realise Banksy owed you anything? Is everyone losing sight of the reason it's being done?
1 - Highlight the issues in Palestine 2 - Make money for local Palestinian charities
Printing a new image to "reward" ungrateful board members is probably way down the list, in fact, it's not even on the fucking list

Surely Banksy doesn't owe me anything, but just because these tycoons decide to feel good about themselves by selling gold-coloured prints to help the poor , doesn't mean that we, the consumers of this very real product known as art, don't deserve to expect/want/request something new for our money. There is no POW, no Laz, no Banksy (the Business), without all of us here fighting over paper.....we're not losing the point on all of this, and if POW wanted more people to get their sudden "message" they should have links to UNICEF and War Child for the Ghetto pages....but no, they know that this is all a very clever way to sell art, and to try to be different from the rest, and to make some political statement at the same time as they count their sterling......so actually, yes, maybe they do owe me something...give me a print now!!!!

i'd be curious to know, how many here, really feel that those are the two reasons? i'd say, maybe 2 of the reasons, from a dozen others.

Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by becksaboo on Dec 3, 2007 18:27:36 GMT 1, just goes to show that pow still can't win. there's no pleasing some people.
the new work is on the wall for everyone to see so enjoy that- to be able to see that in the flesh is one hell of a reward. banksy is all about graffiti and making a point not bloody prints.

surely the journey there, and the experiences one has while there will be more than reward enough on a soul/heart/mind level, but they are setting up an art shop in Bethlehem....and Im sure the experience will not seem like enough once the bun fights start and people walk away empty handed....and the threads pour on here about how some guy and his kids got all the prints....
