Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by Happy Shopper on Mar 15, 2018 17:30:37 GMT 1, The only people 'hating' uber are the marxist lefties that try to make the case that everyone should earn the same, regardless of the skills their job requires. Here's something I never understood. People go 'yeah, uber underpays their drivers so they are bad'. So, why are people still working/driving for uber? Surely they should be able to get a better paying job for their skillset if uber is underpaying them, right? Nobody is holding a gun against their heads and is forcing them to work for uber. My main issue with companies like Uber are they try to monopolise the market by offering these cheap fares (by exploiting drivers that need a job... but that's another thing), only to hike the prices up once they've taken over... or, for example, when there's a bus strike and people rely on them.
People choose to work for them because it's a job you can get, I assume, without much of an interview process. You need a job and money, you can have one, but they'll exploit your vulnerability.

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by Deleted on Mar 16, 2018 11:01:53 GMT 1, I am sure it is full of middle class white guys, I very much hope there arent many who read the Mail. We ARE talking about urban art and respect for people who paint on other peoples walls after all. Anyhow loads of contributors from abroad. Maybe its because I live and work in N London where they are faily scarce on the ground that I am always shocked when I hear their voices. It's always shocking for people when they peek out of their respective echo chambers, both left and right wing. It's a good thing that you are at least starting to recognize why you are shocked.

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by andyroo0312 on Mar 16, 2018 14:39:51 GMT 1, Haha, funny reading this thread. Crap print but a few and I mean a few interesting comments. Uber down here in Sydney are used a lot mainly because 90% of our taxi drivers canβt speak English and do not know where they are going. So because Uber was taking the business from traditional taxi owners our back ward government came up with compensating the taxi drivers from a fund of $250 million which will actually be paid for by the punters that use Uber, so what ever the fare the user pays $1 extra each trip to compensate the shit taxi drivers who lost the business in the first place because they are shit. Didnβt Uber lose there licence to operate in London?? Thereβs a lot of folk down here that would like the same to happen in Sydney but then we would have to walk as our public transport is really shit and the distances between pubs here is a lot larger than in the Uk where there is a pub every 200metres.

True, but on its own the print is a βgood imageβ (as far as these things go) that was featured prominently at Dismaland so the connection is nostalgic more to people who attended (or were aware of) Dismaland and less with Banksy himself (assuming you can separate the artist from the event) - unfortunately, for Zedsy, his post-Dismaland work is less than stellar...

Interesting, thanks for the clarification. I remember this image being associated very early on with the Dismaland event...and I think itβs appeal, at least in my mind, stems from that.

Kinda like Cope throwing up a tag under an unconfirmed Banksy in NYC...taking advantage of a situation but itβs tough to blame them as what better exposure can an urban artist get than to be loosely affiliated with Banksy?

Iβd have to argue the two should be differentiated. Cope defaced anotherβs artwork, Zedsy pulled a page out of Banksys playbook by putting up his work unauthorized.
