It was published for a street art project in Germany, Wuppertal 2006 called Outsides sponsored by Red Bull. Only found info on a German Wiki, but Google Translate is your friend  .
I'm surprised to see he participated on this project since he doesn't prefer these corporate sponsored projects.

Sold on catawiki in 2017 for 50€ interesting but the price is exaggerated in my opinion agreed. the cover has nothing to do with Blu so my guess is this is a red bull advertisement with excerpts from each of the participating artists and the seller is trying to capitalize on rarity of Blu works (the special edition of minima muralia comes with a comprehensive survey of his street murals, a fantastic zine, and two posters for EU50: link). in any event, it is edition of 6000, was free, only shows a small number of pages of Blu, and does not feel all that collectible. and, as samo noted, this is not the kind of project Blu would normally participate in (my guess is this is one that helped him learn to be careful of advertisers) |

Blu used to have his drawings on his webpage, with (this) related work (found by searching internet archive) -- which emphasizes the religious component a bit more. cars appear in other work as well.
i can also see it as about our reverence for material things, as someone else on this message board previously noted, with a related message that consumptive capitalism is sanctified by religion. (btw, i updated this from my answer in an earlier discussion on this message board

I believe it will rise to £ 1200/1500. can anyone help me on the meaning of this print? since they are burying a car, i always read it as a kind of "cars are dead" moment -- from a kind of cultural outcast death (like "painting is dead" or "punk is dead"or "black is the new black") to a hope for a future in which we no longer need cars (causing so much death, from accidents to road kill to pollution near the ground, while contributing to global warming & overconsuming a resource that takes millions of years of geological process to produce). it gave me insight into what Ant Farm's Cadillac Ranch ( wiki) might be (& work i have subsequently seen on the webs by Gonzalo Lebrija & Hank Willis Thomas). One of these prints is "Funeral". When the print arrived I realized that the relief stamp was missing on the Blu signature. I had a couple of email with Pow but at the end they said that everything was fine and onestly I forgot about it.
There some of you guys with the same "issue"?
