What is asking price for one numbered and embossed? How many were not numbered/embossed? I saw a Demos on eBay a month ago that was unsigned and not numbered. Figured it was fake?
searching for "Blu Banksy Demos" and "completed items", i found one that was listed as a "reproduction" and "giclee" (aka inkjet) and the sizing (21.65x16") is clearly wrong (plus the color is "Jellow")

Dear all, as per the title, I am willing to sell a copy of Headquarter by BLU.
Since Easter is approaching, at moment I would prefer a face to face deal. Shipping can be back available at the end of April.
The print is currently in Belgium but can travel with me (Bruxelles - Colmar area (FR) - Milano (IT)). I am moving with car and family so, with some limitations, stops along the way are possible.
Pricing ... quite difficult. I have tried to get opinions here and I am still available for receiving any. If not wrong one went for 5000โฌ at an Italian auction. Not willing to go so far, I would ask for 3500โฌ.
Payment. For a face to face deal I would be fine with a PayPal friends payment or an immediate bank transfer once we meet and you see the print. Such amount in cash might even be out of law in some countries.
In case of shipping, we will agree on postal fees and eventual PayPal ones.
Numbered out of 150, hand-signed and with 2 dry-stamps (POW and BLU).
Kept flat since purchase, it is in very good condition (but for a very small mark in the lower-left angle (below numbering and POW stamp).
I had a couple of positive deal on here and hundreds on Catawiki and Ebay (same nickname).

Blu opted out of the collectible art market on principle and has released zero works - no drawings, no signed/editioned prints - for a decade. people change over time and it is possible he will reenter the collectible art market (he could raise significant funds for projects he supports with whatever detailed sketches for murals he still has or makes in the future), though it seems unlikely to me given Blu (as would a show at Deitch LA, though that would be amazing).
and, i too would love for Blu to paint murals that i could visit (or even more murals that i can take in via the web). i've only seen one mural in person (the money machine at Deitch in NY). the only other mural in the USA that i know of was for the MoCA Art in the Streets exhibit (and Deitch had it painted over before the show opened/i only know it from the web and the MoCA book).

fun fact: the beginning of Blu's Big Bang Big Boom (link) - which shows Blu painting different colors on walls as part of the big bang - was painted on those same walls (my guess is he ended with the Money Machine mural)

full disclosure - i have multiple standard edition prints, a different etching (link), two unique variants (link link), and a large drawing (link) - all from the primary market (back before Blu quit the market in 2012).
Anyone any idea of the value of the Blu etching these days ? Blu, Bรฅst bug boxes and a couple of Escif. Blu's etchings are extremely rare (only 3 etchings, edition sizes are 3-6) - they are *almost* uniques. they are medium sized and have more wallpower than many of the small drawings (like the one up for auction listed above). i've been comparing them to the unique variants (as noted elsewhere, a Headquarters UV has been listed on Artsy for ~โฌ45,000 for months now). however, the unique variants are more iconic (Rennes, Demos, and Headquarters all have corresponding murals with many of the elements Blu is known for) and are actually *uniques* (though less unique than drawings, they have significantly more wallpower and are significantly more iconic than most of the drawings). as such, i would put the etchings between the standard edition prints (which i believe should range from $2k to $15k - artsy has a Headquarters standard edition for ~โฌ15,000 and i believe Rennes should now warrant that) and the unique variants (which i believe should range from $25k to $50k). full disclosure - i have multiple standard edition prints, a different etching ( link), two unique variants ( link link), and a large drawing ( link) - all from the primary market (back before Blu quit the market in 2012). |

reposting with details (for record keeping here on Blu's pricing) - a small (9.4x7") Blu drawing (ink and watercolor on paper) of an axe with a metal blade and handle made of 100 EU notes (which i suspect relates to Money Shark) has an estimate at eu12000-18000 (~$12500-19000). will be interested in seeing what happens as this is the best drawing i've seen come up on the secondary market (not iconic, not related to a specific mural, but also not gore-y or uncomfortable to live with and clearly Blu and extremely rare unique work)

my memory is drawings like this were ~$2000 to $5000 on the primary market in 2008-2012 (the first drawing i saw was uk2000; the last small drawing sold directly from artsh.it for eu3600 in 2012)
Seem an unsigned ...or maybe signed on the back Digard should address this in the listing. i suspect it is signed on the back (that seems consistent with Blu's ethic - signing on the front could feel too self-important and/or disrupt the work (i've known many artists who avoid signing on the front for these reasons)). my drawing also came with a COA signed by Blu. my memory is drawings like this were ~$2000 to $5000 on the primary market in 2008-2012 (the first drawing i saw was uk2000; the last small drawing sold directly from artsh.it for eu3600 in 2012) |
